Refilling My Valid Xanax Prescription Early (Page 19)

I only see one doctor and he gives me a 3 month supply of xanax. When I went the last time he wrote me out a prescription but I still had two refills. I had a friend and her husband passed away and I gave her some of mine thinking I would have no problem re-filling the prescription. I had sense enough not to go to the same pharmacy and not to give my insurance information. So I go to this small drug store by my house and I had to fill out paperwork such as dob, name and my DL #. Well they paged me to the front of the store and advised me that it was 7 days to early for them to re-fill. So my question is where can I go to re-fill a prescription that is valid written by the same doctor. I only tried one place, I'm guessing they must have a data base if you try and refill your prescription early (even without your insurance) does anyone have advice on where I can go to get this filled?

I get mine from my immunology doctor who is basically my all around doctor since so much revolves around my HIV. I get my psych drugs from my psych, but even when I was changing doctors my regular doctor would write those on the condition that I got set up with a shrink again. I do know you have to have a special license to prescribe suboxone. I was told that because for how long I've been taking high doses of Vicodin, I would be considered high risk for suboxone. Suits me fine, I asked my pharmacist what she thought. I'd rather take Vicodin anyway.

Pablo consider urself lucky...that could change...my pain man dr is also licensed as sub precriber ...he used to give me 90 valium 10 mg per month which i super need...but now 15 per month (reduced over time) all the mixed med deaths freaked drs out...must refer out to psych

Xanax is not a narcotic but it is a controlled substance.

Most require to only fill 3 days early, many will not do to federal regulations even paying cash

Well Pablo, it becomes a big deal when you no longer can obtain this massive daily dose, perhaps finding yourself cutoff, and then experiencing the lovely symptoms of withdrawal. Take it from me Pablo, no one needs 10 mg a day of Xanax.

Xanax can usually be filled 2 days before u filled last month if you get it every month from your doctor. It has to do with the insurance company's not accepting it and also being a controlled substance makes it harder..but for example let's say last month you filled your script on Sept 10th...then the earliest you can fill it again would be October 8th.

You can them early all do is tell the nurse to call pharmacy and says it been approved for early refill!

@Meee, my Insurance company always allows fills at 75%. It has little to do with cost. I used to fill my controlled medicine(s) early to have spares, not any more!

Amen!!! I feel so bad for all those people who are and really severe pain that got cut off their medication because of all the junkies that lie their way through the f****** ER and so this f****** b******* clinics..... so the good people that actually need it don't get Nothin I mean they are profiling and discriminate more than anything to cover up the government's mistake that they may be hiring freaking people weren't qualified to be handling narcotics those people you can tell are on the narcotics themselve... defensive much

There are pharmacies that will fill that xanax script early, even 7 days early if you know where to go. IF you live in Florida. Where there's a will, there's a way...

Im from australia and are only allowed 3 2mg a day life would be easier if i only (n cheaper ) had to take one a day .not fair

How many would you like to take daily? Actually that is almost too much and you're wrong, the more you buy the less you pay. Why not put some away for when you lose your Xanax doctor? It will happen someday and if you stopped you would become very sick.

But wouldn't they ask why the person wants early refills. Clearly, the person is taking more than ordered and if that's the case, why not just increase the quantity.
I think it looks kinda shady calling to get your doctor to approve early refills. I personally would feel very uncomfortable and it might raised a red flag for a legit doctor.

Streetpharmacist, @BL is right. You are also partially right. Vicodin & Percocet have Tylenol. You are right in the sense that it's causes liver problems but it was specifically the Tylenol in these drugs that cause the problem and most of the time people don't realize it. The previous requirement for Tylenol was 4 GRAM/24hr. What was happening was, let's say a person had a flu/ fever and starts taking the regular extra strength Tylenol, then they might also be taking multi symptoms cough syrup. If said person is also on Vicodin, which has Tylenol. A lot of people were going over the 4GM. People wasn't calculating the Tylenol in the narcotics as part of the 4GM.
The federal government did initially say to pull them off the market. Pain doctors clap back saying it's would be a disservice to chronic pain suffers.
The Federal government then gave the pharmaceutical two choices 1) lower the amt of Tylenol in these drugs or put a black box warning on them.
Also, the max 24hr dose for Tylenol got decrease from 4GM to 3GM. Vicodin is still available.

October 7. The pharmacist has to take into account that a months supply is one day short in a 31 day month.

I like my Walmart pharmacy and the pharmacists there, however last month had big problem with alprasolam, ran short, was having to take half dose in between my 2a day...still didn't help and ruined some cutting them in half...one flew someplace..never found it but tried. But, they have heard it all so I don't even try to explain. I have a legitimize reason for medication and wish I didn't, but at 57 I'm not backing out to go without them. They filled my prescription a little early, but I had gone about 5 days without. My fault. Ok, but, when I got them and took as prescribed, nothing happen. After two days the twitching stopped and it was a very bad week to be without medication anyway. I kept trying...even counting pills to see if maybe I hadn't taken a pill that morning or evening. And that in itself is tricky because I have dropped them...panic..stupid little pills. Well, gave it two weeks and yesterday contacted my doctor and explained that I had to take extra and although I didn't want to do it before, NOW, I want an increase. Ok long story...I'm worried that those nice people at Walmart are not going to fill it.(doctor said would increase Monday, the 31st). I was not going to increase myself but had to. Doctor says he will. Insurance will cover an early refill if increased. Pharmacist ...I hope. Because, I am too old for this. So someone said in Florida there are pharmacies that will fill. I'm in the system, I know. My doctor can even check on my visits to his office. So where are these pharmacy so? Because, I get mine legal. I did take too much..not crazy, but for a year now, they have not been working..tolerance, I know..or their batteries are dead or their broken. Seriously, I get generic and think I should get real thing next time and pay more. But, I'm just mad, when I need help...everyone turns away. Let me know, folks. Running low and sad situations in life right now. Thank you.. And is anyone else embarrassed that they have to take these? I was...until last couple weeks..don't even say the x word. Now, I'm fighting mad...I need them, they help me they're legal...I don't want trouble. Thanks again

Tweet tweet , you would probably do better with Brand Name, but they are expensive. Depending on how your doctor writes your prescription your insurance company may pay for Brand Name. Your insurance company may or may not require a Prior Authorization for the Brand Name.
