I just turned 26 and received a reclast infusion 2 years ago (the 23rd of Jan) will be 2 years exact. I'm a disabled vet. Since day once I have experienced severe bone pain. One endocrinologist told me if I were to get pregnant I would be a ticking time bomb. There is not one diagnosis to show how long it remains in your system, that It's all a guess. Nor can any one check to see if reclast is still in your bones. No OB/GYN knew about reclast, or believed at my age I could have full blown osteoporosis. Not could they tell me if it was risky to carry a child two years after infusion. Yet I did my research and it shows In animal studies malformations and miscarriages can occur (miscarriagages are caused chromosomal imbalance) therefore if I miscarried it would make perfect sense i...

I had two Reclast intravenous drugs; one in '08 & '09. In 2008 I had sinus lift augmentation with placement of 10 implants. In 2011, I lost one implant on the top & in 2012, I lost another implant on top again. I went to see my oral surgeon in July '12 and he told me that there was nothing he could do to help me as the bone in my upper jaw is severely deteriorated. Then I went to see a Prosthrodontist in Baltimore and he too could not make me a plate due to the severity of the upper bone. I subsequently learned that I cannot sue the drug company because they put on there indications about possible Jaw Bone problems. I do not remember my doctor telling me about the jaw bone problems prior to having the oral surgery. I am 63 years old & now left to flounder because...

What is the allowable payment by Medicare for a15 minute reclast infusion at an outpatient hospital center. My HMO was charged $7000 for the drug and paid 80% leaving a charge to me of 20%. My local pharmacy charges $1200 for a prescription so my question is why the vast difference in price. ## I don't have any information on what the Medicare allowable payment for it is, but I can explain the different in price from the pharmacy to the hospital. When you receive a medication at the hospital you are paying for way more than just the medication. You are paying fees for using their equipment, the time you are taking up space in their center, the salary of the person that's administering it, the IV equipment and you get the picture. It's the same reason you can buy a bottle of ...

I would like to know if there is a blog on osteoporosis in which someone out there has taken Reclast. My Dr. is wanting me to begin this iv injection. I took 2 year injections of Forteo and now the DR. wants me to begin this. I need to know as much as possible about this drug ## Here's a link to the monograph with more information: I also hunted you up a few more links with information: Click Here Reclast Website ## I too have to take the injections every day for two years. They claim this will REBUILD my bones, and this is what I need. It is suppose to reverse bone loss and damage. I am on my 3rd month. It does not hurt if you put it in your thigh. The stomache sorta stings. Good luck ## Reclast is a great option! I'll tell you why: Reclast reduces the risk of fracture at the t...

had a reclast injection12/8/09 I had shorten on breath after the body aches and slight fever is this normal? I have rapid heartbeat everytime I try to doing anything like running the sweeper, dusting & etc. ## Flu-like symptoms exist in about 15% of patients who have Reclast (meaning 85% don't experience it). Your doctor should have told you to take Tylenol the day of your infusion and for three days following the infusion. You should have also drank two glasses of water the morning of the infusion, and eat normally. The body aches have been seen in clinical trials, but this is the case for all drugs in the class (to include Fosamax, Boniva, and Actonel). FYI, when a patient takes Reclast, 61% of the solution binds straight to the bones where it's needed and the remaining 39...

How much would it cost for me to by it from you Through my DR. My wife has tried every thing and has problems with them. Humana does not want to pay any part of it. What would it cost me to buy it throught the DR? ## Are you talking about the drug Reclast ? It is manufactured by Novartis and it appears to be quite expensive. I don't think that this site sells any medications, it is a collection of discussion boards. You might try contacting Novartis directly to see if they offer any patient assistance programs: 1-800-277-2254 Monday - Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm EST Novartis Patient Assistance Program PO Box 66556 St. Louis, MO 63166-6556 I hope this helps. Please reply with any other information which you can think of.
