Reclasp Iv Side Effects

I have done Forteo, Prolia and now my doctor wants me to do Reclasp. I am 75 years old, haven't had any fractures I am aware of. Forteo caused more pain than usual, Prolia caused hair loss and the texture of my hair changed. The hair loss I mean bald spots. I have put off the Reclasp my doctor is wanting me to do, more poison going into my body and I don't feel any better. At my age, I have enough aches and pain without medication making me feel worse. ANYONE have anything positive to say about this drug.

Unfortunately, I haven't read any posts from anyone that's had good experiences with Reclast, or most of the other medications that you've listed. They are all known to cause side effects, such as nausea, diarrhea, joint aches, bone pain, and elevated calcium levels.

While I understand that doctors want to help protect you from possible fractures, it doesn't seem that they are always looking at the full picture, which for you, also includes your quality of life. I will tell you the same thing I told my mother-in-law, who is 73, ultimately, it is up to you. Your doctor cannot make you take anything.

Have you been diagnosed with Osteoporosis? Are you on any other medications?

Yes, I have been diagnosed with osteoporosis. The only medication I take is for GERD, take 4 different meds. I have a degenerative spine, fibromyalgia, and arthritis. I take vitamins. The only treatment for osteoporosis is the injections I listed. If it were not for pain I would consider myself healthy for my age. Just concerned about side effects always have been. Thanks for responding.

Perhaps you can ask your doctor about turmeric for support of a healthy inflammation response.

Hi,
I'm a victim of Prolia. After two doses I developed a bone tumor (extra deposit of bone) over my eye socket. Think about it...these meds are designed to supposedly deposit bone where you need it. How do the meds know where you need it? I have severe osteo in my spine. Five compression fractures in my spine. Did Prolia go there? No. It went to my eye socket. My rheumy now tells me they have discovered Prolia is causing boney growths under the tongue. Many victims in that study but I don't qualify. Would I take a med that lasts for 6 months or a year in your body? Think about THAT. If your body has a problem how do you get it out of your system? You don't. I'm 74 and stopped taking any bone meds two years ago. Slight drop in density but nothing that panics me. I'd rather face that than have random lumps of boney matter popping up all over my body. Add to that I can't have ANY dental work done because oral surgeons won't touch you if you've been on bone meds for any length of time. I was on Boniva IV for 3.5 years ...before I fractured my spine. Good luck!

I have taken Prolia but I am afraid to take Reclast but of course my Dr assures me it's safe. When I finiystemic shed Prolia I had an Mri of my spine as I complained of terrible back pains - I had developed osteoclasts (bone spurs) throughout my entire spine! I attribute this to Prolia as it was a systemic effect not just in a single area - Prolia may rebuild bone but can it rebuild bone to the point of dangerous bone spurs?? I will not take Reclast - I also had 3 strange white bumps develop on my wrist and when dermatologist removed them she remarked they were "hard like bone" and couldn't explain what they were as they were"hard as a rock" - I no longer trust these drugs rushed through by the FDA without proper clinical trials - these wonder drugs may not be so wonderful after all

Hello Viv,
Wanted to share my experience with Prolia. I experienced 6 of the listed side effects, a couple were severe. I only had 3 injections. Once I stopped it was18 month before I felt better & felt free of side effects. I am now 78 yrs & have declined all doctors suggestion/push of osteoporosis meds (I agree they are poisions). I prefer and accept the natural progression of aging. It is certainly an individual decision. Wishing you well. ~K

I have had reclast and it made me sick at my stomach for 6 years and it made me sick at my stomach! Than in January I had a prollia shot. I hurt all over and my back and neck hurt. My blood pressure went high and still is. The shot is very high. I had to pay. 500.00 dollars co pay. I will never get another one! Both of these poison's is for cancer of the bones,! They never told me this! I am 76. My legs still hurt.
