Reaction To Doxycycline

Should I stop doxycycline if after taking 3 doses I have slightly blurry vision? It was prescribed for bronchitis.

You should consult your doctor, before stopping it.

That can be a normal side effect, according to the FDA, you may also experience nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash, and diarrhea.

How are you doing, now? Has there been any change?

I am a 37 year old fair skinned woman. I started taking doxycycline 50 mg in January, for some minor rosacea. I also had blood work done which revealed I had an underactive thyroid. So I began taking thyroxine 75 mcg along with iodine. All was going well until March 8th. I started getting a severe red flushing and also turning a yellow color. I am extremely careful about sun protection. A gp thought I had taken too much thyroxine, so I cut back to 50 mcg, and continued the doxy. It wasn't until I saw an endocrinologist 2 weeks later that we identified the doxy as the problem. Looking back, on the day the reaction took place, I was practicing the piano indoors with the curtains open a bit so it shone on my music. No sunlight touched me directly. So I stopped the doxy. I have lots of horrible brown pigment on my face that wasn't there before plus the rosacea is much worse. This horrible incident has consumed my thoughts and I am sinking into depression. The dermatologist thinks my skin is too sensitive for laser and has given me some sample creams which are not really doing much. I am so desperate and down all the time. Please help!
