UpdatedMy mother had these Domperidone prescribed to her by her gastroenterologist doctor. She has previously taken Reglan which caused her many problems with Parkinson-like symptoms about ten years ago. I was wondering if there is a good chance of her developing some of those symptoms again. Some of those symptoms from Reglan are finally starting to disappear. She is 79 years old and she does take Valium 2 mg. 3 x a day. If anyone knows anything, I would very much appreciate any information on this subject. Thank you very, very much.

Hi, I saw your post about your mother's medication causing Parkinson like symptoms. My boyfriend's mother is going through the same thing. She is 81, and has severe shakiness of all her limbs. We believe this is the side effect of a medication she was on. Supposedly she has been switched to Domperidone that does not cause such severe shakes, but we are still seeing the quivering. We are not sure exactly when she was started on Domperidone, or if it has been started. My boyfriend can hopefully get some answers. His mother has not been able to get out of bed by herself, and we think this may be because of the severe shaking. She has become incredibly weak over these last 4 months in the nursing home/hospital.
