My aunt gave my mother some pills saying they were Provigil and then later called and said they weren't and has no idea what they were. My mother took them and we can't find out what they are. White oblong scored tablet with a J on one side and 24 on the other. ## Hopefully your mother's ok after taking an unidentified pill. Any feedback on how she feels? Based on the description provided, the closest match I'm finding is a white oval pill, scored, with an imprint of "D 24". This particular pill is identified as Gabapentin 600 mg. Size (for reference): 17mm Gabapentin was originally developed for the treatment of epilepsy, and is currently widely used to relieve neuropathic pain. side effects ## Have been treated for depression. Experiencing dizzyness taking Providual. Should I continue taking it? ## Hi Arthur, Are you referring to Provigil (modafinil) perhaps? Dizziness is one of the common side effects of Provigil. If the dizziness is becoming unbearable I definitely recommend speaking with your doctor about trying something else. If you begin to experience any of the following serious side effects, stop using Provigil (modafinil) and call your doctor at once: Fever, sore throat, headache, and vomiting with a severe blistering, peeling, and red skin rash, severe tingling, numbness, pain, muscle weakness, easy bruising or bleeding, white patches or sores inside your mouth or on your lips; hallucinations, unusual thoughts or behavior (depression, anxiety, aggres...

When will some drug company start making generic Provigil? What can be done to speed this up? ## It was first approved and released on the U.S. market in 1998 and there is usually a 12 year exclusivity clause, under the Patent Protection and Affordable Care Act. However, even once that time period has passed, several additional years may be added due to various exceptions that can be granted to the original company. In most cases, a medication is available as the exclusive name brand for approximately 18 years and there is nothing that can be done, under the current laws, to speed up the process. Are there any other questions or comments? ## Generic forms of modafinil have existed for some time, under the names Modvigil, Modalert and Modapro (as well as a few others that are lesser-know...

Will provigil cause you to fail a drug test? I do have a script so I am not worried just extremely curious ## I take suboxone and failed my drug test for oxycodone which is equilvalent to a 5mg oxycodone pill. Is there anyway this could be a false positive. I take xanax 2mg, flexeril, chantix, and albuteral. Would like some feedback. ## I have also not taken any oxycodone in over a year so I am just trying to get some feedback asap. ## No, this is considered a failed drug test. If you have RX for the drugs, the MRO (Medical Review Offices) will call you and you can then send them copies received from the pharmacy. ## I take suboxone and provigil and had failed each test for BENZO'S , BUT I NEVER TOOK ANY TYPE OF BENZO SUCH AS XANAX , VALUM OR DIAZAPHAN

what is the difference between the 2 medicines besides the doaseage and the Nuvigil is cheaper ## Provigil contains the active ingredient Modafanil and Nuvigil contains the active ingredient Armodafanil. They are in the same drug class and treat the same things. The only difference is the needed dosage of each and the fact that sometimes one medication works better than another for different people. For instance, I have a severe problem using Metoprolol to treat my high blood pressure, I get a ton of bad side effects from it, however, I have no problems at all using Carvedilol, even though they are in the same medication class and do the same thing. It's just how it works. Which one has your doctor recommended?

Has anyone had any side effects by taking provigil that are disturbing and do you have to take daily or can you take it occassionally as needed. ## Please take this as directed by your doctor. If you do not take it regularly, then you will experience side effects whenever you take it, because your body will not adjust to the drug. Some of the most common side effects include: nausea, headache, nervousness and insomnia. ## I only tried Provigil once (a full vial) due to the cost at the time. I had really bad headaches in the beginning. As the other responder suggested, they got better as my body adjusted. I didn't stay on it after I finished that bottle (again, due to cost and better alternatives for my condition).

I recently read an article about a trial on the use of this drug in a pediatric form on children with ADHD. I am interested in hearing more information on this to treat my child who has adhd. It is said to not be a methamphedimine like adderall, Ritalin, or concerta; which my child has taken and which i am not pleased with the reactions and side effects of which he has suffered. Any information would be appreciated. ## I have adult ADD (non-hyperactive). I used cylert (pemoline). I tried this drug once when they were canceling cylert for a possible alternative. At the time, it was not generic, so very expensive. Pros: not as addictive-forming as Ritalin. Cons: the price (depending on whether its now generic and/or your insurance). Also, I didn't think it helped much. It makes you ha...

Speaking with someone using this medication for MS maybe helpful. ## I have MS and have been taking Cylert for the past ten years, which has been effective in treating the symptoms related to cognitive damage caused from lesions in brain. Now Cylert is being pulled off the market, my neurologist wants me to try Provigil. Does anyone else with MS & cognitive issues (concentration/distorted perceptions/focus/etc.) have any info regarding this drug and if so, have they found it to be helpful? I understand MS related issues are difficult to discuss as everyone has different symptoms as a result of their MS. So if anyone is out there who is currently taking this drug to treat cognitive brain damage due to MS I would sincerely appreciate their thoughts/experiences. Thank you. ## I began u...
