Codeine, being an opiate, would pose a drug interaction with both the Buprenorphine AND Naloxone contained in Suboxone. Codeine w/ Buprenorphine could amplify central nervous system depression, leading to respiratory distress or even coma in extreme cases. Codeine w/ Naloxone can counteract each other causing withdrawal symptoms (nausea, vomiting, aches, fever, etc).
