I have taken Procardia XL GITS pill for 21 years. When I went on Medicare, they told me they didn't make them anymore. I am on a generic Adalat 60 mg now and have been very aware of my heartbeat ever since November 2012. I tried calling Pfizer and Mylan. They gave me no help. Does anyone know if these pills are still on the market? The pill I was taking is a round pill, medicine embedded in plastic shell with a laser-drilled hole in the center. Please help me if anyone knows where I can get them.

Based on my research, there haven't been any verifiable claims or FDA announcements regarding the discontinuation of Procardia. So I do wonder if what they told you was even true. Often times Medicare only accepts/covers certain brands or generics, and it may just be that they don't cover that particular brand anymore for whatever reason. But to further answer your question, Pfizer's brand does appear to still be on the market:

Procardia XL 30mg, 60mg, and 90 mg
Manufacturer: Pfizer U.S. Pharmaceuticals Group
National Drug Code (NDC): 00069-2650
National Drug Code (NDC): 00069-2660
National Drug Code (NDC): 00069-2670

I hope this info helps!

Thanks, David, for your reply. I have been thinking I was lied to about this. Blue Cross Advantage denied my being on the GITS pill. I was better off when I wasn't on Medicare and paid for them myself. Thanks so much.

Dave, just talked to my pharmacist. He said my going on Medicare and Blue Advantage had nothing to do with changing my GITS pill. He stated Mylan quit making the generic. I had been on them for years. Looks like we have to go down south or north to find them now.

if your still looking, pziser is a gutless company, i took procardia for years then they went on back order, after trying one drug after another an employee told me about a company called greenstone, i called them up and the person who answered the phone said "PFIZER", when i called pfizer the first time to complain about running out of procardia they could have easily said "we have a generic company which makes the same exact product but they didnt, at the present time green stone has it 30 mg xl on back order and it should be back on the market by the first of the year, don't let anyone lie to you, procardia and the greenstone nifedapine 30 mg xl are the same thing
