Prepopik may taste a little better and is a much smaller dose than drinking gallons of the old prep, but for me, it was 15+ hours of torture. Took five hours until it kicked in, but not much was coming out each time. It went on this like for hours, and I was in terrible burning pain most of the time. Moist wipes help the burning pain. I would rather drink the gallon of old prep and get it over with more quickly (2-3 hours) rather than drink the two small glasses of Prepopik and be in burning pain for 15 hours. Ten hours after my procedure, I am still going and in pain. This did not happen to me with the old prep. I never got "clear results" with Prepopik, but I did with the old prep. I was lucky they were able to do the procedure. I would say my fourth colonoscopy was a real pain with Prepopik. Worst one so far.

My procedure is in the a.m. I just completed the second dotage of Prepopik. It really is much better than the previous gallon prep. There's a salty, weird take but it's very tolerable. 5:45 is the so of the procedure and I'm not drinking the 3 ounce cups of water

Used Prepopik 5 days ago. Worked perfectly with no side effects until after.

It has been 5 days and am still feeling the effects of it. Eating, getting crampy and running to the bathroom. Nothing I eat is staying with me.

Anyone out there ever have this issue with Prepopik.

My husband is doing this and after four hours and all the liquid, still hasn't gone. When did you finally 'go?'

I am having those effects now. Took the stuff two days ago, had the procedure yesterday, and today it's like I'm still in hour eight of taking the stuff. Now what? I'm trying probiotics, yogurt, cheese, thinking of Imodium next. It's bad. Not cool!

It is happening to me as well, I'm just in such burning pain, I am afraid to go to the bathroom. I even think I am bleeding. It is like acid is burning when I go to the bathroom. The worse feeling.

Posting to reassure those who are waiting after first dose. Hubby took his first dose at 4:30 p.m., started going at 9:30 p.m., about 4-5 times over the next hour. Second dose at 1:30 a.m. (5 hours before check-in time) with copious results starting about 2:30 a.m for about an hour. We thought he was done but then he suddenly had to go right as we were leaving the house. So, next time I would take both doses earlier to give both plenty of time to work. The only side effect was that he felt woozy for about an hour after the first dose. He drank the clear liquids within 3 hours after the first dose and within half an hour after the second dose. This is not on the Kaiser formulary so we paid $100, which was less than what Costco and CVS quoted. It was worth it for someone who was dreading the prep as much as he was. I would still do the gallon prep if I could do it in a split dose. It works faster so you get a better night's sleep.

This is day 1 after the colposcopy and I have gone to the bathroom 3 times this morning and it bright yellow clear fluid. I'm a bit concerned because you can smell the bile. I had a colonoscopy in 94 and never had this occur. I'm getting worried.

I took prepopik and it worked in one hour. I felt like I drank acid. Today is first day after I the procedure and I have gone to the bathroom 3 times this morning it's bright dark yellow clear fluid and you can smell bile which is really strong. I have eaten but not hungry and food comes right out. I'm getting concerned.

I sucked on a lemon before I took a big gulp (about 4 ounces). Then I sucked on the lemon again (about a 2 ounce gulp thus second time). Sucked on my lemon and finished the rest of the 8 ounces!
Best and easiest prep I've ever had. I cannot take NuLytely or GoLytely at all. Instant vomit!

I accidentally took the Prepopik packages two hours apart instead of the recommended 5. Will this hurt me and will it hurt my procedure?

Yes I'm experiencing the same thing! Eating bland food and taking probiotics. No dairy. Hope it works soon! I'm very tired. Also drinking lots of fluids to stay hydrated.

I used Prepopik Sunday for yesterday's colonoscopy....it was $70 but well worth it.......the taste was not so awful and you don't drink as much as the other awful prep. meds...... but you drink LOTS OF CLEAR LIQUIDS which is fine........i drank cold water with a little Gatorade in it,,,,,,and also some clear chicken broth and lemon ice pops

Prepopik is great.... easy to tolerate.... great pride...my husband is asking for it in January...I got sick drinking the other solution three years ago and was told I was not clear enough had to go back in 3 years instead of 5...all fine last month... Back in 5 years! I did have to take half of magnesium citrate because I called Dr. To say nothing was going on 4 hours after first dose

How does prepopik taste? Very pleasant! Put iced water in and mixed! I had a slice of lemon to suck on, just in case...this helps too. I found drinking with a straw is helpful..slight aftertaste so best to brush your teeth right after drinking!
