Prednisone Reaction After 7 Day Dosage?

Hi - is it possible to have bad side affects from only a 7 day course of the drug prednisone? I've been battling bronchitis and was prescribed 20 MG of the drug last Monday (almost 2 weeks ago). I was prescribed 40MG the first day, then 20MG a day for the next 6 days (my last dose was last Sunday). My bronchitis is alot better, but everyday I've had these wierd sinus headaches and diziness that start about noon and get worse throughout the day. I also had really bad insomnia - didn't sleep for almost 2 days after finishing the prescription. I've been taking Tylenol PM which has thankfully allowed me to sleep, but I don't like how I'm feeling during the day. I also feel alot of fatigue and bloating (my legs especially). Is it possible to have side effects from the drug after a short dosage? What can I do to help get rid of them?

Yes, those can be normal side effects of this medication, according to the FDA, and some people can start experiencing them after just one dose.

They are usually transient and should go away a week, or so after you have finished your course of treatment.

I'm just now seeing your reply, but thanks for posting it. Thankfully I'm feeling much better. I'm still getting the weird headaches but not as bad as before. They may be related to pollen allergies. My symptoms persisted for a good two weeks after stopping Predisone. I started taking an adrenal supplement about 10 days ago and don't feel as fatigued now. I also found that taking a Benadryl with no dye in it and one tylenol did much better for me for sleep than Tylenol PM and didn't make me feel groggy the next day. I'll make sure and tell a doctor going forward to not prescribe me Predisone going forward. I'd rather deal with bronchitis than the side affects from that drug.
