Possible Side Effects For Ferric Carboxymaltose

I recently had an infusion of 500mil of diluted ferric carboxymaltose 13 days ago. Since then I have experienced sever fatigue and weakness, loss of appetite, difficult bowel movements , unusal anxiety and loss of consciousness. I previously had an infusion of venofer and experienced no side effects. My question is mainly to do with loss of consciousness which was experienced 13 days after the injection. Could a link be made ? Or has there been too much time between the infusion and the said incident? I have another infusion booked and am unsure whether or not to proceed .

Hello, Emma! How are you doing? I'm very sorry about what you've experienced.

The fatigue, loss of appetite, constipation and anxiety are all listed as possible side effects to iron infusions by the FDA.

However, the loss of consciousness could be the sign of a bad reaction to it, so you should inform your doctor, before having the next one. It might not be safe for you to continue with this one.

Other side effects may include muscle and joint pain.

Hi how long do the side effects last? I'm just two weeks from my first ferritin infusion and I have been having bad days and even worse days since. I'm extremely fatigued, vague, joint pain, chills etc. is this due to the iron or just a virus with bad timing? And if it is the iron how long does this last?

I'm feeling worse each day I had injectafer 3 weeks ago and the side effects came on straight away . Dizzy bad pain in the legs stomach pain that is excruciating very fatigue sleeping all the time hives you name it I've got it . The worst one of all is anxiety I never had this is my life I've always been very fit and happy .Now I'm always exhausted and I have 3 children to look after injectafer has made me very ill keep me updated like to know if you feel better

I to after 3rd venofer infusion got a tunnel feeling like your daydreaming but know what your doing next day was driving went to park, next thing I knew I hit a sign in from of me. I remember going to break but when I realize I was on gas. I breaked but did some damage to car. It's like I went unconscious for just a sec. I was scared to drive sense. I'm setting now after 4th infusion, now can't walk straight, and fell like I'm in a zone. I know what I'm doing but it like I'm forcing it. Anyone have this.
