Ointment is an antiseptic, antifungal cream for relief of th athlete's foot, ringworm, hemorrhoids, externally caused blemishes, cracked lips, minor cuts, burn and bruises, corns, itching from burning skin due to sunburn and non venomous insect bites. Contains salicylic acid, sulphur, zinc oxide, phenol calamine, menthol, petrolatum lanolin and mineral oil. Have used this product for over 50 years and it works great. My jar is almost empty. ## Hi Linda, Is there any chance you might be referring to a lotion or cream called "SARNA" which contains: Camphor 0.5% + Menthol 0.5% + Phenol 0.5% (totaling 1.5%)? If so, from what I've heard, this product was taken off the market because Phenol was not considered a good product to be included in a lotion. I don't know the validity of this claim or if it's available in any other countries, but apparently these three ingredients mentioned above are widely available in the form of chapstick ointment/lipbalm, from other brands like Blistex. I am wondering if there are any other diabetics out there who use insulin & are allergic to phenol. What are your reactions to it? I get really sick, like an extremely bad case of the flu with chest pain. ## Using levemir and having chest pains and liver burning sensation. also fast heart rate. I am afraid to up my doseage. PHENOL EZ SWADS-WHAT IS EXPIRATION DATE ## When were they purchased? The expiration date on anything is going to vary, depending on manufacturing date, whether the packaging has been opened and etc. If the information you posted in your subject line is from the packaging, that would designate that they expired in 2009.
