Perindopril V Ramapril

I was taking Ramapril 2.5mg for around 2 years and the only two side effect I got from them. Was when after I had an Arthroscopy knee operation and I started with a cough which so I am lead to believe is commonly known as the Catroripril cough hence the spelling. And also a feeling of being hot in the body all the time I have now been prescribed Perindopril 2mg I am just hoping that I don't get any of the scary side effects that are mentioned in.the leaflet as they frighten the living daylights of you !!!!!

Coveram 10/10.
After 3 months, I feel my gout attacks increased. I suspect it's the coveram I am taking. Should I change medication for my high blood pressure then. If so what other alternative medication can I consider....

Rubindeawn, what side effects did you read about that scared you? Perhaps those can be addressed, if you post back with more details.

The NIH lists the typical ones as possibly including nausea, dizziness, hypotension, headache, and increased urination.

GT, Coveram 10/10 contains Perindopril and Amlodipine, this combination is most commonly used to treat high blood pressure, and certain cardiac conditions. Yes, gout has been known to be a side effect of many medications in this class, either newly onset, or worsening of existing gout. Other side effects are similar to those I have already posted for the other medication combination.

There are many other medications you can try, but only your medical provider can help determine which one is best and safest for you.
