Percocet Vs Oxycodone Strengths

Out of curiosity what is stronger Percocet 7.5 (325 mg) or Oxycodone 10 mg Immediate Release (IR)? I know the only difference between these two is one has Acetaminophen and one doesn’t. The 7.5 mg Perc didn’t say if it was IR or (Extended Release) ER. If needed more details I’ll explain replying to your post(s).

Just trying to have an idea.

Percocet is immediate release, and even though the Acetaminophen does boost its efficacy for some people that take it, the 10mg Oxycodone is still stronger.

The FDA warns that these medications carry the risk of being habit forming, and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, headache, and constipation.

No. That’s perfect thanks! Had 2 surgeries in the past (1st one started out with 7.5 mg Hydrocodone) before realizing that 5 mg Oxycodone was a lot more effective than that. This was the one I needed Oxy for 4 weeks. Most recent one was short term (4 wisdom teeth pulled out yesterday) and was prescribed the Percocet less than 1 week. Just explaining my tolerance short term and longer than 1 week. I can handle a lot of pain and will explain a little more if needed another time.

percocet is brand name oxycodone is generic they both have acetameniphine in them ......... oxycoton is the one without the aceteminaphine ..... niether have hydrocodone in them ...... hydrocodone & mophine are on
a 1 to 1 comparison this means you get the same effect (per cdc) with 1mg of either & so on as the mgs increase .......... percocet/oxicodone on the other hamd is a 1 1/2 too 1 ratio ..... thus 5mgs of oxycodone is the equivalent of 7 1/2 mg of morpine or hydrocodone ....... not sure what the oxycoton equivilent is ........ i hope this helps

The question wasn’t about Hydrocodone vs. Oxycodone. It was 10 mg Oxycodone (freebase not the HCL) vs. 7.5 mg Percocet (both IR).

Percocet (oxycodone and acetaminophen) is a combination drug consisting of an opioid and a pain reliever and fever reducer (analgesic and antipyretic) used for the management of moderate to severe pain, usually for an extended time period. Percocet is available in generic form.

I just saw your comment. It was a rough day today (6/10 pain) without it, as the pain still exists. Pain would have been a constant 10/10 last 3 days if I didn’t have this.
