Percocet 10 Mg Vs Oxycodone 10 Mg
UpdatedI'm prescribed 10 mg Oxycodone for chronic pain and have taken them for about four years. This month I've had several bouts of GI issues, with fever, vomiting and diarrhea. The pills aggravated the nausea and vomiting, so I stopped taking them and tried to get by on Tylenol and Advil. I called the nurse to report that I was not taking the meds and why. Instinct tells me I should report to them anytime there is a situation which would impact my drug panel.
By the second day, I identified different types of pains, separate from the illness I was experiencing. It finally dawned on me that it could be withdrawal symptoms (I've never experienced anything like this!) I resumed taking the Oxycodone, even if I knew I was going to throw up. I hoped that enough would stay to make those pains go away. I had mixed success, but the new pains did gradually lessen. I'm now almost out of the oxycodone (new script tomorrow, assuming I pass the drug panel.) I will also be seeing my doctor for the GI issues. I have one oxycodone left and have been trying to save it for tomorrow to make sure it's in my body. I'm really hurting now, though. Should I try to keep toughing this out or should I risk taking a percocet 10 mg (prescribed for my husband).
Even as I type this, I realize how serious this situation is for me. I would have never thought of taking anyone else's drugs before this. I don't judge anyone for doing whatever they do, but it just helped me realize that, when the pain is bad enough, closely-held values go out the window. I do not like being hostage to my pain, u/a's, and the DEA, but I don't see that changing in my lifetime. If I get through this, I'm going to discuss changing to a nonnarcotic drug. The variables are just too great!
