First of all, unless you have an active infection, this medication is not going to do anything to help. This is an antibiotic and it is important not to use them, when it isn't appropriate, because you run the risk of developing antibiotic resistant bacteria.

Second, this is even more of a danger, because this bottle of medication is outdate. The expiration date was 07-23-2010, after that, they start to lose their effectiveness and this creates an even bigger risk of developing antibiotic resistant bacteria.

Have you seen a doctor to see what it causing this problem?

It could be as simple as cuts, from something you ate, that just need a few days to heal up.

In response to Jesse Cortez and for others, I have a bottle of Penicillan 500 VK dated 04-03-2009 and I just took one because of a tooth infection and I have an appt. with a dentist today. I couldn't wait. I feel a little better now that I know the medicine is still good.
