Pain Relief With Naltrexone

Updated

I was prescribed Contrave for weight loss.
I also have a injury to my right upper arm and shoulder that has made me unable to move my my arm more than 6 inches forward, backwards and out to the side without causing horrible pain.
My doctor prescribed Tramadol and occasionally Vicodin for pain relief.
Fast forward 5 yrs.
Opiod crisis. Doctor stops my prescription. Go thru withdraw and Pain is none stop.
Enter Contrave...with it's LDN (low dose naltrexone & bupropion)
Within a week the pain is subsiding.
On week 4 it's gone! No more pain..I can move my arm as if it had never been injured.
I read about LDN (opiod antagonist used to treat opiod addicts by stopping the effects of opiods...and yet it also seems to relieve some kinds of pain like migraines and fibromyalgia).
I am wondering if anyone else has had a simliar effect.
To me this is incredible!
Please share if you have. As this may be an answer to quite a few people in chronic pain, just as I was.
Thank you

I have not read any similar comments from others, but I am very glad it has worked so well for you, and your posting to let others know about your experience is sure to help someone.

Is there anyone else that has experienced this and not mentioned it?

The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, nervousness, mood changes, and weight loss.

Taradiddle, have you experienced any problematic side effects?

Re: Verwon (# 1) Expand Referenced Message

Thanks for reply. I did have slight nausea and headache for about a week. Very mild. Not enough to stop the drugs.
Since then I've had no side effects. And absolutely no pain in my arm or shoulder.
I do want to point out that I had a horrible toothache recently and I was able to take Vicodin several times for the pain till I made it to the dentist.
Normally opiods are not supposed to work while on Naltrexone.
But I think the reason the Vicodin worked is because the Naltrexone is such a low dose.
I'm going on several months and still no pain.
Which is very Nice.

I take LDN & it has helped with headaches, but I take it for fatigue.
Bupropion is an opiate though, so maybe that’s what is helping with your pain.
