Pain On Methylprednisolone

This is my second day on this drug and it was wonderful the next day after taking it. Took it for awful pain just below my neck and pain in lower back. Horrible for RA. Second day pain came back in lower back. Hurts, so is it not working now and is this unusual?

Methylprednisolone is not an analgesic. It is classified by the FDA as a steroid, so while it may relieve pain a little, because it can help relieve inflammation, it will not alleviate all of it and it can cause some serous side effects.

Typical side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache, fluid retention, elevated heart rate, elevated blood pressure and weight gain.

Yes it was prescribed by Dr. And after presidone dident wor well he put me on Methylprednisolone. 2 days I will be good then pain returns. He is so hard to get in touch with and a lot of times they don't reply. I can't understand so much pain and my arms are black and blue. Is there any others meds for this terrible in? Thank you so much.

I have degenerative disc disease and on the methylpredisolone 4mg dose pk helps with inflammation but for pain i would suggest seeing a pain management specialist. Thats what I have but still hurt most days. Pain management specialist will have loads of options and treatment plans detailed specifically for you. Wish you the best hope you find some relief.
