I'm a runner and also have high bad cholesterol. I started Pravachol 1 month ago. 3 days ago was the last time I could run. It hurts when I walk. Lower left side of my back. At 1st I thought sciatica, but so sudden?

I am not specifically sure about the side effects of Pravachol BUT the cardinal side efecct to monitor for with this class of drug is muscle weakness/pain. I would suggest discussing this with your doctor ASAP. Best regards, Shaunn RN

I used pravachol for 3 years and never had any muscle pain. I did with zocor & lipator.

Greg: My husband complained of shoulder pain the entire time he was on this drug. He endured this for about 6 months until his cholesteral was within normal limits.

I am wondering if anyone knows which statin is least likely to give me constipation? I had a terrible experience with zocor.
