I'm sorry you're suffering and I hope you find help soon.

However, as to not wanting to go to a clinic, you really aren't going to have much choice on that. Under the new laws that went into effect at the beginning of the year, changes are being implemented that will no longer allow general practice doctors to prescribe pain medications for long-term use. They will only be allowed to prescribe them for a short period of time, such as when someone has just had surgery or been in an accident, except for in cases of certain rare exceptions.

Additionally, you may want to avoid going to a new doctor and just trying to get them to prescribe medications, because most will view that as drug seeking behavior.

Have you had any tests done that prove there's nerve damage?

I did NOT find a good Doctor!

I am willing to travel but the place in Cherry Hill, do they do meds only without the injections that I've had 8 of already that don't HELP! If so I am going to check them out. If anyone has a CLOSER doctor in Hamilton, that would be great! If they don't push injections then I will give them a go! Thank you! I hope all my fellow NJ peeps find relief!

I have never had an injection. I have been with the practice for over 11 years. They will give you a full exam and go through options. I would bring all records from previous doctors. It is really hard to get narcotic prescriptions filled anymore for people that legally need the help. Chain pharmacies are allowed an allotment and when they reach it they are done. I have been with the same pharmacy for 7 years and they just stopped carrying all narcotics so I had to scramble to find a new pharmacy. Good luck.

They have a full operating room on premises in the turnersville office. They do injections, nerve blockers, pumps & anything else dealing with pain relief. They are very caring & compassionate and understand patients in pain. I have been very happy & that is why I travel 3 hours a month to my appointment.

Have you had luck in Hamilton? I'm close by Hightstown / allentown and the doctor I see in monroe gives me lyrica and tramidol but. I nt off tramidol , it is very hard on the system being a synthetic opiate, I would like to get an opiate for my herniated bulging discs and sciatica to take on days I can't move. But the fibromyalgia sucks . I have flu like symptoms daily and nothing helps other then an opiate and the lyrica alone lyrica isn't cutting it and I'm suffering.

Try Capital Management in Pennington ...609-537-7300. Dr. Alverez or Dr. Gonzollis. They used to work with opioids so check first. Or call Ricardo Cruciani at Hahnemann Hospital in Philadelphia at 215-762-6915. He does work with opioids and he is the director of the Pain Management department.

To make a long story short... I was started on Fentanyl patches 10 years ago for a fall down the stairs that triggered a fibromyalgia flare but came to know years later it was really Rheumatoid Arthritis. I had been told that I was a great pain patient. Never abused my script.. Never called in early, etc. Throughout the years I was able to get off the 12 hour medications and stay on the Oxycodone 15mg 4 times a day and my daily pain was manageable. Until September 2016 before my RA diagnosis, my doctor retired and a new doctor straight out of school with no specialty in treating Fibromyalgia abruptly ceased my medication and because of that I had to turn elsewhere for pain control. I'm working full time still, thank god, and seeing a doctor who wants me to take four 8mg Suboxone strips for pain control along with Gabapentin! It makes me sad cuz he wants to help me. I see his willingness to help me. He specifically told me that I never should have been taken off the Oxycodone and that was very detrimental to me. Unfortunately, now that he's prescribed Suboxone, he can't prescribe narcotic medication without drawing a red flag even though he too feels that I need it. My question is... Will 8mg Suboxone film 4 times a day and Gabapentin 900mg a day provide pain relief or will I just be tired and disorientated? I'm a 36 year old female and just want to live a normal life. Thank you for all your knowledge and help!
