I have recently cut my dose way down following 10 years of high dose. I am finding that all my joints are achy and I have a constant headache as well as the dreaded hot flashes keeping me up at night. does anyone else react this way?

This is a normal reaction to severely cutting your dosage or stopping a medication.
Even if you take a medication exactly as prescribed, your body still becomes dependent on it and when you cut the dose or stop taking it, your body has to readjust to not having it.

To whoever uses premarin, you are selfish and if i ever learnt of anyone who took it id give you what you bloody deserved, moaning about your dried up fannies! but to encourage the animal cruelty that goes into preparing this drug is disgusting.

to the female that has stopped her premarin. I am 63 and had a hysterectomy @33 and I will always get major swets etc. if I donot take my normal dosage of 1.25. The body does not respond even after 3 months of trying to stop. You go girl and take the meds that allow you to live a peaceful life PLUS your bones will appreciate the estrogen

I have also been on premarin (only) for 27 years. I tried to quit but the hot flashes and mood swings were terrible. After only 2 weeks my husband of 58 years was frantic. At the age of 77 and with no-ill effects, I decided I wasn't going thru this for 5 years so I went back on. Now, if can can ever get an appointment with a DR., I'll get this straightened out!

Is this Premarin synthetic? Otherwise, stop taking this crap as it is killing horses. This product is also very dangerous for humans. Selfish human beings! There are alternatives to your hot flashes and other hormone problems. Do not use premarin!!

You probably need your estrogens back. I have made very clear to my Doctor that I don’t have to change what is giving me quality of life: estrogens and progesterone together taken at night. My menopausal symptoms were severe due to stress and I have been stable for seven years. My Doctor tells me I should decrease the doses because of risk of having breast cancer. I just know I can’t change it because I get the symptoms back so severe. You should find a Doctor that listen to you and you please try to report your symptoms as clear as possible! Hope you feel better soon.
