I have a friend here in Florida who's mother is still getting 80's original formula. I seen the bottle which was filled on 12/29. So idk if it's a Dr's request thing which they claim or pharmacy still has them left. But him and her says Dr had to request it on script. Idk I just know I seen them last month. Any truth to this??

The only way she would still be able to get the original ones, with the OC marking is if the pharmacy still had some in stock.

The doctors request would have no effect, because the company that manufactures them, Purdue Pharma has stopped manufacturing the original, however pharmacies are allowed to continue to dispense the original, until they run out.

It could be that the pharmacy she is using has a supply and is making it last, as long as possible, by only dispensing it to those whose doctors request it.

I have got the originals for the last 6 mths, last filled this month. Walgreens is the only pharmacy that carries the old OC formula. Purdue is distributing them thru Ethex & Apotex as a generic, only it is the old formula. Don't call the pharmacy & ask them about it, they will all tell you they no longer exist, take your Rx to them. I know for a fact that the Walgreens I go to just received the ones that I got because the month before they were out. If they were only selling until they ran out they would not have had these. Don't have brand necessary wrote on the Rx or you will get the OP's. When you think about it you know that Purdue isn't going to lose out on its million dollar drug. I dont know where you live but I'm in middle Ga. Go to Walgreens with your Rx, don't ask them on the phone, they are all instructed to not say anything. Good luck

Im wondering if the glue like substance that the op's have in them can do any harm to any other organs in your body especially in your bloodstream??? i already know they arent helping chronic pain and my husband medically retired staff sgt. Has been taken off of them because they are a trashy form of something that helped him once. But has the damage been done??? Hasnt he been through enough?!?!?!
