I have been taking pain meds for quite some time now, and have been trying to figure out why I'm prescribed generic Percocet with Hydrochloride? I would appreciate any feedback you have. Thanks so much in advance!

Hello, Angela! How are you?

It is just Oxycodone, the hydrochloride is used to designate the specific chemical salt that the medication was derived from, some prescriptions list it, some don't. But, it is the same medication.

The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation.

Is there anything else I can help with?
