Oxycodone False Positive Test - Only Taking Hydrocodone And Ms Contin

I am prescribed ms contin 60 mg bid and hydrocodone 5/325 for a long period of time all the my dr ordered a narcotics ua I tested positive for oxycodone and now my dr is trying to take all my medications from me, I would also be violating my probation causing me to go to jail. Please help me with any information that would help me. I only take the medications prescribed to me and I need my meds due to several back injuries.

Well, since you do take Morphine, which is the active ingredient in the MS Contin and the Hydrocodone, in the Vicodin, it was likely caused by one, or both of them.

If they use one of the less expensive, non-certified tests, then these types of false positives are known to happen anywhere from 4 to 50% of the time.

To be honest, if this happened to me, I'd be asking the doctor some very touch questions about the test they use.

Hi,
So I really am in desperate need of some help. My nephew is with his father right now as he was taken away from my sister,her is an amazing mother,anyways what happened is she had strep throat and was on liquid hydrocodone as well as steroids and antibiotics. My nephew was on steroids as well and decided to give him his as she was taking hers,being sick and exhausted ACCIDENTLY gave him 2.5 mg of Hydrocodone (5/500mg) instead of his medicine,well the hospital said he had Oxycodone in his urinalysis and now they think she's lying! We are beside ourselves,There is NO WAY! no one is on that medicine and he never goes with anyone else. We read on another site that some peoples bodies can metabolize hydrocodone in a way that it causes a false positive for Oxycodone. I have been online for 2 hrs and can't find any legit links that I could bring to court as proof,PLEASE PLEASE can anyone give me some insight?

With some people, some opiates may make them test positive for others. The doctor who runs the Institute for Pain Management in Jacksonville Florida knows this. He told an employee it happens when they told him I tested positive for an opiate other than the one prescribed. Drug tests: either you worry about testing positive for what you took, or you worry about testing positive for what you didn't take!
