Oxycodone Drug Screen

I have been in rehab for 18 months and am tested 3 times a week for oxycodone in my urine. I have never tested positive. However, about 6 weeks ago my test came back positive for oxycodone only no opidiads. I didn't take the oxy and want to know if the combination of my other medications could have cause the test result. I take aderol, adavan and flixoril. Occasionally I take excedrine for my headaches, but I don't take anything else. Oh yeah antacids.

False positives for some narcotics can be caused by the Acetaminophen in the Excedrin, it is usually for Morphine, but has also been known to occasionally cause them for other narcotic drugs, as well.

Based on your description, particularly the frequency of testing, this was probably an oxycodone immunoassay (IA). The drugs you mention have very different metabolites and cross-reactivity is unlikely.

However, IAs have a very high error rate, 15+%. Following an IA positive screen your sample should have been confirmed by the more precise GC/MS or equivalent. That test (confirmatory) will clear up the matter immediately.

Your initial urine sample was divided into 2 aliquots to allow for re-test or confirmation. Request the confirmation.

i drank a detox and still tested positive for oxy, i followed the directions as i have done before and passed, but this time i tested positive, they are sending it to a lab for further testing, what are the chances of it coming back inconclusive or pos or neg PLEASE I NEED HELP
