small round whit pill, it's scored once on one side and has 257 imprinted on the other...there is NO other writing or letters on the pill! ## The closest match I have been able to find is manufactured by Zydus Pharmaceuticals and they list it as containing 15mgs of Oxybutynin, which is used to help treat overactive bladder, and urinary incontinence. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, drowsiness, vomiting, and urinary retention. Is anyone else familiar with this tablet?

I had bladder mesh surgery 7yrs ago, several procedures, hysteroscopy and have been on myrbetriq for a few years. But now my Dr has added oxybutynin with this, so does this mean my bladder is getting worse? ## Have your issues and symptoms become worse? You would be the best person to know that. Are you sure your doctor didn't want you to switch from one to the other? The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, dizziness, blurred vision, and vomiting.

How long does it take oxybutinin to work? I just started the pill form 5 mg today, supposed to take 2x daily and only took one so far and still going like crazy ## Hello, Sammy! How are you? There may be some slight effect when you first start taking it, but usually it can take awhile for it to reach a good efficacy level in your body. Really, having taken just one dose is too soon to expect it to do much. If you continue for a week or more and have no results, then you'll need to contact your doctor. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Is it safe for my friend to take oxybutin from chemist shes weeing none stop and wont go doctors but it is bad the worst ive seen its constant ## Good lord, NO! MUST first rule out UTI and diabetes

I have not taken any for 1 1/2 days and I am still quite dizzy. Is this the side effect of use. ## How long where you taking it? Dizziness can be a very common side effect of this medication and, as I well remember from when I took it years ago, it can take several days to wear off, especially if you've taken it for a long period of time. ## I have taken the Oxybutynin 10 mil for a couple months couple weeks ago my right eye is very blurry vision if I stop taking this how long will it take for the blurriness in Rye I do get better

I was taking oxybutynin 5mg three times a day for about 2 months. I've had surgery and don't need it anymore Now I'm nauseated no energy. Basically feel horrible. Am I going thru withdrawal? I'm also having pain in my vaginal area the pain is like a soreness. ## Hello, Cindi! Sorry that you're so miserable. Have things improve, at all? Yes, withdrawal effects can happen with any medication that you've been on for a long period of time, even when it's something innocuous that you didn't abuse. Learn more Oxybutynin details here. It could also be some after effects of the surgery, or a combination of both. I'm not sure if the vaginal pain is related, or not. Have you consulted your doctor? That would be the best thing to do, just to make sure that there...

My husband was prescribed Oxybutynin over two weeks ago, after a week the dose was increased to two tablets a day. He has Parkinson's disease and takes Sinemet and Ropineral. Over the past few days, his Parkinson's which was controlled has now spiraled to the point where his mobility and tremors are badly affected. Could this be connected to the Oxybutynin? This condition worsens as the day progresses. ## Yes, the NCBI actually does report that is has been known to worsen cognitive function in those that have Parkinson's. This has also been noted in studies by other groups, such as SafeRX, and some government clinical trials. What dosage is he currently taking? Why was it prescribed and what other medications does he take?

I have been taking Oxybutynin hydrochloride 2.5mg per day for about 4 to 5 months and for the past few weeks I've been having trouble with my eyes and having bad headaches. Could these be side effects just starting now? ## Yes, those are possible side effects of this medication, according to NIH reports. You may also experience nausea, dizziness, and urinary retention. Are you on any other medications? How severe have the side effects been? ## I've been taking oxybutynin for a few years now I used to leak frequently and then it stopped and now I'm leaking always and it's very irritating what must I do or what's going on why is the oxybutynin not working anymore

Due to my spinal cord injury and paraplegia I use digital stimulation for my bowel program and therefor have the opportunity to feel some of the fecal matter as it comes through my colon. On at least 4 occasions I have found the Oxybutynin 15mg Extended Release tablets entirely intact. As an experiment I placed a tablet in a glass of water for 24 hours and after that time found the tablet intact except for the light coating that dissolved. The remains of the tablet had an almost rubber like coating. The tablet could be cut with a knife and the interior contained a white powder. It seems like the tablets are not dissolving. I have had to increase my dose to two tablets a day instead of one. In the past I was taking 5mg of Oxybutynin 3Xday. What is the mechanism for dissolving the tablets...

My aunt is having problems with her eyesight and found out that oxybutin can cause vision problems. She's been off of oxybutin for 2 weeks and her eyesight isn't any better. She says there's a shadow where here vision is blocked. Has anyone experienced this? If so, did it clear up or was it something different? Wondering if it's time to see a specialist. Thanks!! ## Hello, Gina! How are you? Generally, the Oxybutynin tends to cause blurry vision and dizziness due to the way it affects the vision, as listed by the FDA and from my own personal experience trying it years ago. Other side effects may include headache, dry mouth and urinary retention. Thus, it would be best for her to have this checked out by a specialist to be sure. When I stopped taking it, my vision issues ...

I am taking oxybutynin 10mg at night. I still get up to go two or three times, and sometimes I don't quite make it without significant leakage. What's going on? ## How long have you been taking it? This medication may take 4 to 5 weeks to reach its full level of efficacy in your body, according to FDA reports. How much leakage are you experiencing? You may need to try a different medication. Are you on any other medications?

After only two weeks of taking oxybutynin 10 mg once a day, I am suffering from severe knee pain. Has this happened to anyone else? ## Hello, Yvette! How are you? Has there been any change? The FDA doesn't list that as a side effect, but they do list back pain, so it is most likely reasonable to assume that it may cause pain in other areas of the body, as well. I tried this one years ago and always got sick shortly after taking it, so I had to stop it. Have you tried any other medications in this class? ## I stopped taking Oxybutynin but the pain continued. I think my pain was caused by trauma when I helped a friend move. Thhe knees are slowly improving so I think the meds are not at fault. ## Yvette, the same happened to me. Not only my knees but all my joints. Blurred vision, terr...

I've had been given a puba vaginal sling and bladder suspension a month ago. I'm now taking Oxybutynin 15 mg and I still experience leakage. Why? ## Hello, Kelly! I am sorry about the problems you're experiencing. Has there been any change? What was your specific diagnosis? That could help explain why you are still experiencing an issue. Additionally, no procedure, or medication, even if FDA approved, is guaranteed to work for 100% of those that try it. Are you on any other medications? ## I had a tilted urethra and falling bladder. Had urethra sling and bladder suspension. Now there's no physical reason I should be still leaking. First follow up left me with an oab diagnosis and oxybutynin script.. which doesn't help. I have another follow up next week and hope for ...

I take 15 mg Oxybutynin ER in the evening. This morning it came out whole in my stool. What's going on? ## Hello, Karin! How are you? I understand your concern, but I can assure you that it's completely normal. Some time released medications, such as this one, use the outer shell as part of the time release mechanism and it is not intended to be dissolved by your stomach acid. Think of it this way... the outer shell basically has 2 little holes in it, that are covered by a light coating and not very easy to see, the inner components are something similar to a sponge, plus the active medication... when you swallow the pill, your stomach acid dissolves that thin coating over the holes, then the sponge starts to absorb some stomach acid/fluids, which forces the medication slowly ou...

Hello, I just found a bottle oxybutynin 5MG twice a day, that was perscribbed 5 months ago it says don't use with meloxicam which is probably why I stopped taking it. Ive been running to the bathroom like every 20min. But I also experience pain in my joints and various body parts on daily basis. What can I use in terms of pain relief? Is there something else I can use for over active bladder or incontinence? Thanks for you knowledge and information I can't always reach my doctor, but I have an appointment and I hope to have something to discuss

Hello I've been taking oxybutyn for about seven months and have put on about thirty pounds!!!! I just recently found out it can cause weight gain and got really concerned!!! I had weight loss surgery and lost 140 pounds and have not changed my eating habits at all!! I'm really upset and want to just stop taking the medicine!!! Will the weight gain go away on its own or will I have to struggle to lose it? ## Hello, Paula! How are you? I'm sorry about the problem you're having. Rapid weight gain can be a side effect of this medication, as reported by the FDA, along with nausea, dizziness, blurred vision, and urinary retention. And yes, it should slowly go away, once you stop taking the medication. Are you on any other medications? ## Yes I'm ill and take about 15 meds ...

Whats the best time to take 5 mg of oxybutynin? I just was prescribed it yesterday. Does it cause weight loss??? ## Hello, Theresa! How are you? It can cause some dizziness, drowsiness, and blurred vision as side effects, so many people find that they do better taking it at night, rather than in the morning, according to the FDA. Weight changes could go either way, it can vary from person to person. Some people lose weight while taking, but some gain. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I am taking oxybutynin and I am getting lots of side effects from it. I told my Doctor that I want to stop it. The worse side effect is the dizziness. I would like to know how long this medicine remains in your system after you stop taking it?

I have been on Oxybutynin 15mg for quite awhile for my overactive bladder and it just doesn't seem to help. What time of the day is best for taking this? I don't really know what to do-i don't like doctors, no offense if you are one. Please let me know what time is best for taking this? ## Hello, Deb! How are you? No worries, I am not a doctor, so no offense taken, I completely understand. Some of them are very hard to deal with, some don't want to listen to patients, some just want to throw medications at them, some won't answer questions..... some are guilty of all of these, and more. It can be hard to find a good one that actually pays attention. I took me so long that my husband was desperately hoping his insurance would allow me to stay with the ones I've be...

My 8yo daughter was on oxybutynin for 3 years for bladder issues. After doctors deciding she didn't need to be on it any more we took her off it. Almost straight away she started to gain weight. ( she was a very healthy weight whilst on medication) Gained nearly 10 kg within 2 months! About 18kg in total over the next 2 years. After many visits to pediatricians they tell me its just coincidental that she gained weight then and not related to the medication. I'm convinced that something has changed in her body after coming of the medicating. I'm just not sure what?? ## Hello, Ash! How is your daughter doing? Weight gain is usually a side effect, while someone is taking this medication, not after stopping it, so I do see the doctors point. However, we can never know how any gi...
