Oxetol 150 And Pregnency Side Effects

Hi, My wife is 5 months pregnant, and pregnancy is identified as twins, but my wife is on OXETOL 150 (1 - 0 -1), i would like to know side effects on the same. Thanks in advance.

Oxetol contains the active ingredient Oxcarbazapine, it is an anticonvulsant that is also used as a mood stabilizer.

As to its use during pregnant, studies in pregnant animals showed some toxicity and developmental abnormalities, but there have been no controlled studies done in humans.

However, many are concerned about its possible risk, because it is very closely related to the medication Carbamazepine, which is known to be teratogenic in humans.

Has she talked to her doctor? She really should do so, because it is vital that they evaluate and possible risks and benefits of her continued use of the medication.

Sorry, could not respond back, my wife delivered twin girl babies who are from single placenta with good birth weight, both babies are doing good, bad is wife again went in to postpartum depression. Oxetol 150 during pregnency did not cuase any issue, and doctor said there is no side effect with breast feeding too. now kids are 7months old and mother stopped feeding but she is on different set of medicines becuase of postpartum depression.

iam 22 years old.iam using oxetol 150.iam suffering from tuberous sclerosis.doctor said that it should use for whole life. i want to know is there any side effects on babies.or babies could get this disease.

Hi, Sameer..im taking oxetol daily 600mg...since 4-5 yrs ..n now im marrierd n planning to have a baby..did ur wife have any complications during preg. Period....im really afraid however will be consulting doctor for medicine change for d sake of baby... Do ur babies have any difficulties now..?? As in with any development issue or body growth ...ur suggestion will matter alot..thanks..

my wife was on oxetol 150 mg twice a day along with folic acid during the first 5 months of pregnancy. dosage was increased to 300 mg twice a day along with folic acid because she got an seizure attack. She delivered a perfect and healthy baby in November ! :) oxetol is safe according to our neurologist. remember to take folic acid always !

hello.. i am 34 years old and i am 2 months pregnant. i was having 900gm oxetol daily but my neuro doc reduced it to only 150 1-0-1 per day . i am really scared now a day and thinking all day about seizure attacks and my baby. is it safe to have a healthy kid ? what did your neuro doc say ?
im really too much panic about my medication and having a healthy baby.
