can I take 1mg Kalma and 30mg oxazepam together with 150mg effexor ## Hello, Chops! How are you? Both the Kalma and Oxazepam are benzodiazepines that treat the same conditions, so there is no need to take both of them. Doing so risks overdose. This medication also carries the risk of being habit forming and could cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache and irritability. But there are no reactions between taking one of them with the Effexor, though it's always best to double check such information to be certain. Is there anything else I can help with?

Its my understanding that oxazepam is a weaker benzo that is what my psych said I have tried every benzo and feel I get no relief from any he last had me on klonopin allowing up to 3 Mgs daily but I felt it wasn't helping he switched me to oxazepam only cause its the only one I didnt try and thought to give it a shot but he prescribed 15 Mgs 4 times a day I think this is far less than the equivalent of klonopin 3 Mgs a day does anyone know if I'm right does anyone who tried other benzos use or had used serax please let me know ## Hello, Theresa! How are you doing? Yes, you are correct, you'd need 120mgs a day of the Oxazepam to equal what you were taking of the Klonopin. This medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, heada...

Answer: Oxazepam and Nordaezpam are active metabilites that the liver breaks some benzodiazepines donw to. Ik now for a factt that for Diazempam/valium the metabolites oxazepam and Nordazepam DO show up in urine because of the Diazepam falling apart in active metabolits when processed in liver. Also other benzo's can have metabolites like oxazepam or other: it all depends on what type of benzo yr using. Google avtive metabolite [type of benzo] and you know what will show up in your urine tests. Also depends if the drug gets processed renal (by urine) or hepatic. (liver) Good luck all. ## Sorry for typo's: I am on some recreational bennie dose now. But I do know about stuffthings lol. Regards!

T ook this test 2 deays after being treated in the emergancy room for stomach pain and nausa and testicular as a resualt of a recent visetomy. I was precribed Vicaden, and Trimadal. Iwas already tacking 2 BC powders per day, two excederian perday, moltren, tramadol, and doxycyzofenline. Is it possable that any of thes combinations could have resualted in a positive/false reading?

I took an initial 8 panel ua and it came up positive for Benzo's, so I asked for it to be sent in for a gs/ms test with the chemist, it then came back for Oxazepam and I never took any, I took Librium before I went to treatment and I only took it for a couple weeks and then I took Ativan in treatment for the first wk and then nothing. I'm unsure why this test came back positive, can you help answer this for me? ## If you take Ativan, it is metabolized down into Oxazepam. I had the same thing happen with Valium. The chemist told me that valium breaks down into oxazepam, as well as Ativan, Restoril and a few other drugs I can't recall. ## I'm on trammadol sandoz 200mg and have tested positive for benzodiazepine , but further tests say Oxazepam and I have been sacked from m...

This came along with 10mg oxazepam but I am afraid to take them as they are the same size but very different shape and markings. It's bi-convex and has a slight 'waxy' outer layer, eg. Not crumbly. It was mistaken for the Seresta 10mgs as they were a similar size I imagine. Sadly I have now run out.. no sleep for the wicked! Thanks...

I am prescribed klonopin and showed up positive for oxazepam. Can anyone tell me why this or how this could happen. Please help me. ## Klonopin contains the active ingredient Clonazepam, it is a Benzodiazepine and Oxazepam is a Benzodiazepine derivative. The less expensive, non-certified tests are known to give false positives anywhere from 4 to 50% of the time, especially for closely related drug classes like this. Are there any other questions or comments? ## The samething just happened to me and i am trying to find the same answers please help if you find anything out. ## This happened to me as well. I take Klonopin & methadone & I get random drug screens monthly. Today my test came back with oxazepam. The nurse said I mustve taken valium but I didn't!! I demanded another...

My Rheumatologist says that it is unnecessary to withdraw from Oxazepam 15mg. (see above Topic for dosage) and merely substitute with a lesser dosage of Difucan (10mg. @ 4-6 hours daily) as they are "the same drug"! I have been taking this Oxazepam dosage for 25 years+. Now I am following his instructions and having major withdrawal miserable symptoms. Any suggestions? ## There is no medication called Difucan, the closest is Diflucan and, if that's what you have, then I don't think you're taking the right medication, because it is an antifungal medication. Learn more Diflucan details here. I think you may want to double check everything, because the medication she intended to prescribe for you may have been Diazepam, which would be an equivalent medication. Learn mor...

This may not get answered, but i'd really appreciate sound answers. I'm taking valium 5mg 2x's daily. I've had udt done & it came up with some #'s that don't make sense. My first test last month shows as this; desmethyldiazepam 490 ng/mg creat temazepam 600 ng/mg oxazepam 300 ng/mg Then this month it was; oxazepam 1100 ng/mg temazepam 370 ng/mg How did it show up 3 metabolites the 1st time & only 2 the next & what do these #'s mean? Why is the oxazepam considerably lower & temazepam was higher the first month? I know the temazepam is the first to metabolize & then it breaks down into the oxazepam. Or am I wrong? Either way these #'s don't make sense to me & my dr has said nothing about it. I'm just worried she will ask for a...

Did you perhaps mean to say Oxazepam? This drug is also in a class of medications called benzodiazepines, and is used to relieve anxiety. What are the medications you've been taking that could have triggered the false positive? ## Im on norotin i think that did it

My wife has been taking purata for the last 6 months and i have noticed that she has lost her labido and has very little emotions, and has become a very hard person. I have read on this site another person with the same problem and would like to know if Purata contains the same drug build up as leximal. ## No, they don't contain the same medication. Purata contains the active ingredient Oxazepam, which is a Benzodiazepine derivative that's most commonly used to treat anxiety and nervous disorders. Learn more Oxazepam details here. And Lexamil contains the active ingredient Escitalopram, which is an SSRI antidepressant. Learn more Escitalopram details here. what relationship is this medication to the valumn family? ## Same family - benzodiazepines. Available in 10, 15, 30 & 50mg tablets, its onset of action is very slow, so no good for acute panic attack. Best for those would be diazepam and alprazolam, bromazepam, lorazepam and nordazepam, which are all very fast-acting, I find 2/3mg alprazolam fastest. However, if you're not using bromazepam, then my advice is to do what I do, which is take 3mg alprazolam to deal with the immediate symptoms, and at the same time or 10 mins later, take TWO Seresta Forte or other 50mg strength oxazepam. It gives you several hours of calm, not brutally sedating like diazepam, more like the smooth feeling of a couple of 12mg Lexotanil or Lexilium tablets, to help, when it begins to be felt about 45 m...

Hello...I recently had a urine drug screen. I am on prescription Norco, Klonopin and occasional Valium for testing at the hospital. My screen came back positive for Benzo..Oxazepam and Nordiazepam. Is this one medication or 3 different ones? Oddly.. the Norco didnt even show up? Please advise..thanks alot! ## Oxazepam and Nordazepam are different drugs, but they are both Benzodiazepine derivatives and related to the Klonopin and Valium that you take. Benzodiazepines are known to cause false positives for other, similar medications and the hospital or doctor testing should be aware of this, especially if there aren't using certified tests. That's why, in most cases, they will just use general tests, that look for Benzodiazepines, or narcotics, rather than the specific ones. And w...
