I do not have any skin signs of psoriasis but I do have swollen joints. Does anyone else take this drug for this symptom alone without the psoriasis? ## I have same. Hands were very swollen and painful. It helped a lot with that. ## Yes, this medication is used to treat both skin psoriasis, and psoriatic arthritis, it can also be used for other immune disorders. The typical side effects of Otezla may include nausea, headache, loss of appetite, and weight loss. Have you started it, yet, Bonnie? If so, has it helped? Is there anyone else on this medication that can share their experiences?

Looking for answers, I have been on Otezla for 5 months with wonderful results. Had Plaques on 15% of my body and now down to 1%. But I have had significant weight loss, and difficulty eating. Nothing sounds good and if I try to force myself to eat, I start gagging and get the feeling I'm going to vomit. The weight loss was welcomed, but now starting to worry as it has not slowed down, and the difficulty eating has been increasing. Anyone out there with the same experiences? ## Hello Tina, According to the NIH Otezla is known to cause all of the symptoms you are experiencing. Below is a list of the most common side effects of Otezla sourced from the NIH. Common Side Effects: Immune system disorders: Hypersensitivity Investigations: Weight decrease Gastrointestinal Disorders: Frequ...

I have been on otezla for 2 days and already have some changes along with some side effects. Looking for people taking this medication to discuss their progress. ## What types of side effects are you experiencing? The FDA lists its most common ones as possibly including nausea, diarrhea, headache and cold-like symptoms. Can anyone else that's on this chime in, please? ## Hi I am experiencing a few but nothing severe. .. nausea is the worst and it fades in and out, diarrhea at times and I did also get a bright pink rash scattered on more one side from my face to my shin. I'm not certain. It was related. I am almost at one month and about 90% of my psoriasis is gone, and I mean really gone. I have one area on my leg that swelled up and seemed to almost have a center that was infec...

What is the active ingredient in Otezla that I can buy over the counter to help me lose weight? I've been told by someone taking Otezla that it's an appetite suppressant. He just doesn't have the urge to eat and I eat all the time. I need help. ## Otezla contains the active ingredient Apremilast, it is not available over the counter and is not used for weight loss. Loss of appetite can be a side effect, according to FDA reports, but it is approved to treat psoriatic arthritis. Have you consulted your doctor? There are several effective weight loss medications available, but most require a prescription.

I've been on OTEZLA for 6 weeks. I also treat my psoriasis with a steroid ointment and a clobetasol FOAM for my scalp. I have to say nausea is the worst side effect I have from it. OTEZLA says you can take it with no dietary restrictions but I think you should eat 30 minutes prior to taking it. Migraines are the other thing I get frequently since taking it. ## Hello, Chelsie! How are you doing? Those can be typical side effects, as reported by the manufacturer, Celgene. You may also experience dizziness, diarrhea, fatigue, and runny nose. In such cases, where nausea is bad, most doctors or pharmacists do recommend that you make sure to take the medication with food, but it is always a good idea to double check, just in case. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Anybody take Ot...
