Hi to all. I took Olanzapine 10mg for 6 Yrs & suffered a very strange & worrying side effect due to the Drug. After 3 Months of taking it, I literally stopped sleeping any more than 2 hours a night, characterized by no sleepiness prior to sleep onset (just blacked out) & no feelings of fatigue either physically or mentally despite days without sleep. I also had no drug effect from multiple Drugs, such as Alcohol, even after drinking 2 Litres of strong Wine, rather just no respiratory depression (very worrying), virtually no intoxication & no bodily effects such as warming effect, gate change (Cerebellar). I became so worried & distressed by this that I set out to withdraw from all Drugs & Alcohol in the hope that the fore mentioned extremely strange & bafflin...

Side effects include: Dizziness, enormous weight gain. After taking for 9months I increased my self by 10kg. When I stopped it gradually my weight decreased. ## I was prescribed oleanz plus half tablet for severe muscle pain with insomnia and some depression also. Now after taking it for 10 months I stopped but all the old problems returned. Can I take this medicine again? ## This is an antipsychotic, so it is normal for it to cause weight gain, according to NIH reports, along with nausea, drowsiness, headache, and mood changes. It contains the active ingredient Olanzapine. Geeta you can take it, again, as long as your doctor approves. Are you on any other medications? Why did you stop taking it? ## Personally I hate this drug and was put on it for a year and the psychiatrist thinks tha...

I have a question: I was prescribed Olanzapine 50 mg for Prurigo Nodularis from a dermatologist. I have sores that bother me like crazy for a couple of years now. The Dr said it's stress. I don't agree. Am already on an antidepressant. Has anyone ever heard of being prescribed this med for my condition? Thanks Bon ## Hello Bon, The NIH actually has an article where they say that the exact cause of prurigo nodularis is not known, however, what is known is that scratching them causes them to spread. I'm sure you are already aware of the scratching spreading them but what strikes as odd is that nowhere does the NIH state that a common practice is to prescribe mood enhancers such as olanzapine. Commonly creams and ointments are prescribed and for severe cases dermatologists will...

I have a friend who left some yellow round pills at my home and there was no bottle or box that they came in. She has been on tablets for her mental health before but as these have no name to show what they are I was a little concerned to have think these tablets are not her usual prescribed medication and wondered if anyone can give me an insight as to what these tablets are. She does suffer with Anxiety, panic attacks and mental health issues on top of her depression, so could these tablets be some sort of a stabaliser for her health conditions? They are yellow in colour, round, about the size of a diazepam and has 48 on one side and c on the other. ## From what I can find, the manufacturer Aurobindo lists them as containing 10mgs of Olanzapine, which is used to treat various types of...

does olanzapine contain opiates ## Nope - no opiates in Zyprexa... however there is a very small benzo component - small enough that a benzo addiction/withdrawal issue would be almost impossible. To my knowledge, this med contains no narcotics or otherwise chemically addictive ingredients. ## That is correct, Olanzapine is the active ingredient, it is used to mental health disorders, such as schizophrenia, and bipolar disorder. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, sedation, somnolence, and weight gain. Has this been prescribed for you? ## If I put raw opium up my rectum will it work better than smoking it? ## What would make you even think of that ? I think you need to stop smoking it ! You might be alittle burned out.

I found a pill in my sons room and would like to know what it is. It is small and round with a pinkish peach colour. On one side there is ON underlined and the other side is 20. I live in Canada so it makes it harder to identify what it is. I'm assuming the 20 is mg and the ON stands for Ontario but can find no information. Help please? ## Sorry to hear about what you found. I still haven't figured out what this is either - My guess is that the "ON" stands for the medication name or the manufacturer. I agree with you that the 20 is most likely the dosage in mg. Have you gathered any other details yet? My search continues as well. It might also be an over the counter product (not usually catalogued the way prescription meds are), or there is even a chance that it is an ov...

A girlfriend found a bag of a mixture of different pills, some easily identified except for 2. This one is like it sounds in the title. The colour is white, it's round & very well pressed as it has beveled edges. It's blank on one side and the other side has an N imprinted above the scoreline and below it is the number 5. I figure that the N is for Novopharm? The 5 is probably a dose amount? This one stumps me, I have never seen a benzo (mostly as that was what was found) of this kind or if it is even of that family. ## A white round film-coated tablet imprinted with "5" on one side and "N" on the other, reportedly contains 5 mg of Olanzapine.
