Ocuclear

Updated

OcuClear was the best eye drops ever. Since it has gone off the market, I have been unable to find anything comparable. Visine does not do the trick at all. Is there an eye drop on the market today that even comes close to what OcuClear would do? Or can I still purchase OcuClear on the internet?

OcuClear is manufacrured in Canada, Visine L.R. is the equivalent of OcuClear, and it's available in the US. They both share the same ingredient, which is Oxymetazoline.

I have tried Visine. It may have the same ingredient in it, but something is still different about Visine than OcuClear. I have a problem with red eyes, and OcuClear always cleared them up. Visine just does not do the trick. I guess there is nothing else out there on the market that is any good.

I used to use OcuClear also and was disappointed when they took it off the market. I tried the regular Visine and it didn't get the red out but the Visine L.R. sure does and its been my eye drop of choice, hope it helps you.

Unfortunately, a Superior Product like OcuClear was taken off of the market because it was either pressured out by, or bought out by the Visine brand. OcuClear was indeed leaps and bounds above the others. This was the perfect formulation for many people, and I suspect for All people who did at least once try the product. The discontinuance of the product was NOT in the best interest of the consumer. Very disappointed in Visine. It's just not as effective.

You guys are GREAT! I was also a MAJOR purchaser of Ocuclear and was extremely pissed when I couldn't find it anymore. There has never been anything as good and effective as Ocuclear...not before and not since. It would soothe your eyes, relieve irritation and redness and practically rinse them clean. You only had to use it once a day and in extreme cases maybe twice. You never had to worry about over using it and it left the white of your eyes clean and clear for many hours. I so glad that I stumbled upon your reply. I also must say that the Visine LR was a halfway decent attempt but it never matched up and then it was discontinued... What can we do?

Thank you Linda for your comment about Opcon-A! You're right, it's like bleach for your eyes! I tried it out recently and it works just like occuclear did. It even stings a little like Occuclear did, so you can feel it working. Opcon-A is even better than Visine LR, and you can easily find it in the stores. I purchased it at Ralphs Supermarket. I recommend everyone out there looking for an Occuclear replacement to try Opcon-A.

Ocuclear was such a great product. I was so upset when it went away because it was the only thing that saved me from going insane. In late 1987 I developed an eye disease that made the oils in my eyes highly acidic, which burned my eyes like someone had poured acid in them. For months I went into a deep depression because of the pain until I found Ocuclear, which cooled my eyes off and made all the red go away. All I had to do was use it every 6 hours. Thank God Visine L.R. has the same active ingredient, because all the other Visine's are like putting salt into my eyes. They just burn and make my eyes redder.

Thanks everyone, I too was a huge fan of Ocuclear, found it to be the only effective drop against redness other than Napcon A which is more pricey. I will definitely try out Visine LR. Clear Eyes Maximum Redness Relief proved useless.

I will definitely try out Visine LR which is now has the Long Lasting banner right below the small letters "LR". Clear Eyes Maximum Redness Relief proved useless as did Visine Redness relief..

Hey, your are right about ocuclear eye drops being the best. I miss it also. Now I use Clear eyes or Clear eyes complete, and Artificial Tears. They work good together. I use one drop of tears at (bed time) night and Clear eyes during the day.

Hey! Thanks for the good tip. Where can you find this at? Can I purchase Visiene LR product at Walgreens, Walmart, Publix, CVS, or Winn Dixie. I don't want to go on a wild goose chase.

I have been using Visine LR for years until today when I went to get a new bottle but couldn't find any so I call Visine and to my surprise I found out that Visine L.R has been discontinue. Does anyone out there know of any other product similar to Visine LR?

No, but after talking to Visine Customer Care, I was told there is work in progress to bring this back product. Apparently there was a problem with the manufacturer........was not told what that was but we will have to till the new product becomes available. Don't know what to do until that happens as nothing works like the Oxymetazoline.

I stocked up on Visine LR and am almost out. I spoke with Visine customer service two weeks ago and told them how pissed off I was. They said that they were well aware of how upset customers are. Sounds like they may be working on a reentry into the U.S. market but with these large corporations the wheels turns slowly! I have had some (but not complete) relief by using hot washcloth compress before I go to bed at night. My opthomologist said getting rid of the oil and dirt around the eyes gives some pain relief in the morning. Hang in there everyone...I hope that J&J eventually does the right thing for patients and consumers.

So far after long search and questioning diferent farmacist; rhere was one who told
The main substance is an antiflamatory but can be adictive., and Naphcon eye A drops from Alcon is the only one who has a similar compocition as Visine LR. Remind you I am from Canada so it can be a bit diferent. Also this pharmacist encourage me to talk to my Dr. To try to find something else since is not good in the loooong term. on
