nystatin cream

can nystatin cream be used for acne i didnt get a clear answer onthis page ## Hello, Will! How are you? No, this is an antifungal cream, so it won't do anything to help acne. Acne isn't caused by a fungus, but it is sometimes caused by bacteria and can be treated with antibiotics. Is there anything else I can help with?

Will nystatin help w my acne?? I don't get it very bad. Just a couple pimples but my chest and back are worse then my face. They get tiny white heads. Will this help or make it worse? I've been on some pills where they make it worse. Any insight you can give it awesome. Thanks ## Hello, Kas! How are you? No, Nystatin only treats fungal infections, so it will not help with acne. Have you consulted your doctor? They should be able to find something that will help you. Another tip is to always wash those areas of your body last, when showering, that way any lingering oils from your shampoo or other products you use don't stay on the skin to worsen the breakouts.

Groin rash etc etc

Having them take a swab when you first get a lesion is going to be the best way to determine what is causing it and explore your treatment options.

Nystatin in pregnancy

Dr gave me Nystatin vaginal cream to treat yeast...he told me to applay that cream into vagina for 7 days.I am pregnant six weaks...Is there any risk for baby?I told him that I am pregnant, and he know that... ## Hi Nickol, Based on my research, Nystatin is listed as a Pregnancy category C drug. This means that animal reproduction studies have shown an adverse effect on the fetus but there are not any adequate nor well-controlled studies in humans, but potential benefits may warrant use of the drug in pregnant women despite potential risks. Since your doctor allowed you to use this medication, and he knows you are pregnant, I wouldn't worry. If you notice any side effects such as vaginal discharge, speak with your doctor. It's recommended that the medication is stored at room tem...

Oral Nystatin tablets for vaginal use

I was prescribed nystatin vaginal tablets for a resistant vaginal yeast infection but the pharmacy said it is discontinued. I was given oral tablets instead, will these be effective for vaginal yeast treatment? ## Hi, Mary! How are you? Yes, they should work, but it may take a little bit longer than the vaginal tablets would, since it does have to be processed through your body to do its work, rather than be directly absorbed into the vaginal mucosa. Learn more Nystatin details here. The side effects may also be different, because the oral ones may cause some nausea and dizziness. Is there anything else I can help with?

over the counter topical nystatin

Is there an over the counter topical nystatin ## Hi, Carolyn! How are you? No, Nystatin in either topical or oral formulation is only available via prescription. The reason for this is because it can be toxic if used improperly and too much is absorbed into the body. Learn more Nystatin details here. Is there anything else I can help with?

Use of Nystatin

Can I use Nystatin tabs for treatment of vaginal discharge? If so, what should be the dosage? ## Nystatin is used to treat fungal infections of the skin, mouth, vagina, and intestinal tract. Fungal medicines will not work for colds, flu, or other viral infections. If the vaginal discharge is due to an existing fungal infection, then yes, this medication will work for that indication. If not, you may want to speak with your doctor or gynecologist about other viable treatment options. You can learn more about this drug on the page for Nystatin Details I hope this info helps!

WHAT IS THIS MEDICATION USED FOR? ## Is Nystatin and Triamcinolone Acetonide Cream USP used for inside the ears? My ears are itching. ## can u use Triamcinolone cream 0.1% or Mupirocin 2% for ring worm? ## @Dian Primm, Based on my research, Nystatin is an antibiotic medication that prevents fungus from growing on your skin and Triamcinolone is a steroid that reduces the actions of chemicals in the body that cause inflammation, redness, and swelling. The combination of nystatin and triamcinolone topical (for the skin) is used to treat skin infections caused by fungus or yeast. Is the itching being caused by a fungal infection? Cream Med

Can nystatin and triamcinolone acetomide cream USP be used to reduce acne? ## Unless you were told to specifically use it to treat acne, I would be reluctant to do so, since there may be something in the inactive ingredients that could cause it to worsen. Learn more Nystatin details here. Learn more Triamcinolone details here. How severe is your acne?

I have a yeast infection in my esophgus and my former Dr. did not give me this. Is this product correct ## Hi Bob, I was unable to locate specific details on the combination of these three medications, but I did look up each one individually to get an idea of what their used for: Nystatin is used to treat fungal infections of the skin, mouth, vagina, and intestinal tract. Hydrocortisone is used to relieve the itching, redness, dryness, crusting, scaling, inflammation, and discomfort of various skin conditions. Diphenhydramine is used to relieve red, irritated, itchy, watery eyes; sneezing; and runny nose caused by hay fever, allergies, or the common cold. Based on the details above, it's tough for me to say whether or not this is the best prescription medication to handle the job. W...

Nystat Hydroc Tetrac Diphen

I was given this med for thrush. I have been on predisone for emphesema and I developed thrush. I got a headache and dizziness. ## This is more than one medication, are you saying you were given all of these? The Nystatin is an antifungal medication, so it is appropriate for treating Thrush, since it's an oral yeast infection. The Diphenhydramine is sometimes given, if the yeast infection is causing dizziness, since is an antihistamine. However the other 2 are not normal treatments, so you would need to ask your doctor why they prescribed them. The Hydrocodone is a narcotic and that's probably what caused the headache and dizziness. And the Tetracycline is an antibiotic, these are not usually given, because they can cause, or worsen these types of infections.
