I have been suffering from anxiety (along with some sort of epileptic fit disorder that seems to be baffling physicians ...for whatever reason.) also, i get Very tired during the day. to the point where i could fall asleep (almost) anywhere. I (obviously) don't, but being that tired is VERY irritating to say the least. I start taking Nuvigil 150 mg tablet tomorrow, and I am some-what worried about side affects this medication may have on someone (me) who had anxiety and gets easily "worked up" via "uppers" ## I certainly see your concern regarding anxiety, since Armodafinil (Nuvigil) is a stimulant-like drug. From what I could gather, the most commonly reported side effects were headache, nausea, dizziness, and insomnia. But you can view more specific details in the ...

paint! Ugh Has anyone else dealt with this after starting Nuvigil? ## Hi Yolie, I haven't personally taken Nuvigil, but I did find information stating that bruising, severe tingling, numbness, pain, and muscle weakness are just a few of the many side effects. That means there is a chance this medication could be the cause of your pain. I would consult a medical professional and speak with him/her about the issues you are experiencing. Does anyone have any idea why Nuvigl is frequently in very short supply and so often on backorder at local pharmacies? Have heard the rumor that Nuvigil is being discontinued. Does anyone have any facts? Thank you for any information. ## Towards the end of the year, such shortages are usually due to mandatory manufacturing limits, additionally, there are limits to how much any pharmacy can order and keep in stock. Learn more Nuvigil details here. However, I don't know of anything official that states that this medication is being discontinued. What local pharmacies are you using? ## Thank you so much for the Nuvigil info. Considering what a "popular"medication it seems to be,I would think that the discontinued rumor is just that. Our pharmacy told me to check back w/them aro...

I do not have CFS, but I have been experiencing pretty severe fatigue on a daily basis for over 2 months. I began 150 mg of Nuvigil 3 days ago. It seems to have given me a lift but I still feel tired. I'm wondering: -what is the usual effective dosage of nuvigil for this type of problem? -and, does it have to build up in your system for a while before it's effectiveness can be judged or is it a short-acting med that is only effective for a little while after it's taken? ## There isn't a recommended dosage for chronic fatigue, as it isn't usually used to treat that. The normal dose for conditions it is used to treat, such as shift work sleep disorder and narcolepsy is 150mg once daily, just as you are on. And yes, it can take a few weeks for you body to get used to th...

I suppose I am in the first stages of figuring out what causes me to be tired all the time. I am frustrated, and memories are flooding in of the onset of my tiredness. I remember falling asleep in every class in 9th grade at the age of 14. I always assumed my tiredness was from one reason or another. With that said, recently I have been back and forth to the doctor for four months now. This last time he prescribed Nuvigil, and wants to order a sleep study. I was so excited at the prospect of feeling awake, and to my dismay I have not felt anything good. Headaches mainly, tired, anxiety, emotional, spaciness, and even on 200mg took a 2 hour nap. Blah! Been on 150mg dose still tired and don't feel as much anxiety and spaciness. It has only been a week, maybe I am giving up to fast. I ...

off white/cream colored oblong pill with the capital letter c within a square ## Hi alexis, Could there possibly be another marking on the other side of the pill? Perhaps the numbers "215"? I did locate a match to your description, but with the numbers "215" on the backside of the pill. If this sounds like it could still be a match, then I've identified your pill to be Nuvigil (150 mg). Nuvigil (Armodafinil) is approved by the FDA for the treatment of narcolepsy and shift work sleep disorder, and as an adjunctive treatment for obstructive sleep apnea. I have a friend that takes Suboxone and Klonopin at the same time....but he falls asleep EVERYWHERE all the time...so I'm considering having him try Nuvigil...What are the risks of the meds being combined? ## Well, unless you are a doctor, you shouldn't be having him try any medications, that is something that should only be done by a medical professional. That brings the relevant questions, has he talked to his doctor about the problem? Is he supposed to be taking them both, at the same time? If so, then it is highly likely that he is on too high of a dosage of one, or the other, in which case, it is much safer to adjust one of those medications, than to risk the side effects and complications associated with adding a new medication.

i have been on nuvigil for 5 gays 150 mg the first 3 days i felt great awake during the day and slept great at night. now when i take it I feel tired 3 hrs after i take it like i could take a nap. does that mean i need to take a higher dose or can i cut the pill in half and take it twice a day ## Hi there, I have been taking nuvigil for about a year now. I have severe narcolepsy & the 150mg did absolutely nothing for me either. I contacted my neurologist & he didn't hesitate to up my dose to 250mg & it immediately worked for me. Contrary to what most people believe, It all depends on how severe your sleep disorder is, and has nothing to do with your weight, gender, or age. I'm a 27 year old female, 125 lbs, 5'7". I just recently started having to take an extr...

Took one Nuvigil 150 and nothing else. How long before it leaves my system? I have tox screen in 3 days. What can I do to aid the excretion? ## It really depends on how much, how long and how often you were taking it, but most medications are cleared out of your body for a drug test within about 5 half-lifes. Nuvigil (armodafinil) is a relatively long-acting drug with a half-life of 15 hours. Since you only took one I would think that you should be fine in 3 days time. But it's always good to take extra precautions. Eating plenty of fruits and vegetables while staying hydrated throughout the day will significantly help your body detox quicker. Besides getting plenty of rest each night I'd also recommend getting at least an hour each day of exercise in to help sweat out any toxin...

Recently I had a sleep study done to find out why I was still tired the next day even after a good 8hrs of sleep. They determined from the results that I have a form of narcolepsy and prescribed me 150mg of Nuvigil. I also take Lopressor for an anxiety disorder and blood pressure. Will they have any problems mixing? ## Hello, There are no interactions found between these two medications; so you shouldn't have any problems mixing the two. Both of these medications do however interact with food (if taken with food). The bioavailability of Lopressor (metoprolol) may be enhanced by food. Patients may be instructed to take metoprolol at the same time each day, preferably with or immediately following meals. Administration with food may delay the absorption of Nuvigil (Armodafinil) withou...

After four years on Provigil, my doctor changed me to Nuvigil because the copyright expired and the maker had to move to a new name by changing an isotope. Nuvigil caused my blood pressure to increase to the point there was a pulsating feeling in my head and a definite lack of concentration -- making a shopping trip difficult, for example. Any other folks with this problem? ## Actually, the difference in the medications has nothing to do with changing the isotope for the patent. It is a different isotope/medication, because the new one that was discovered is a longer lasting one, which of course, had to be approved by the FDA and licensed as a new medication, because it is different. They company still holds the patent for the name brad Provigil and also has the one for the newer medica...

Hello, I am on my second day of nuvigil. I am wondering what I should expect from this med. I have extremely bad day time sleepiness. I recently did a sleep study that showed that I slept for a full 8hrs. I feel as if I never get enough sleep. I could take a 3 hr nap and sleep 10hrs at night if aloud to and still be fatigued the next day. Driving for longer than 30-45min is nearly impossible. I cant stay awake for movies and the list goes on. The sleep doctor I met with wants me to give this a try. I was prescribed 250mg. I was told to only take half at first to be sure it doesn't trigger my migraines (I get them on a reg. basis and don't need extra help getting them). Yesterday was my first day I took half nothing happened. I was just as tired as any other day. Today I took hal...

Nuvugil is a very expensive form of Provigil, which is a medicatiom used for those with narcolepsy, those who work rotating shifts and those who need help staying alert during the day. Nuvigil has to be approved by your medical insurance company and the original price is about $386.82 for 30 pills. With insurance, the prescription is $89. Nuvigil is expensive but it does keep me awake. ## Nuvigil contains the active ingredient Armondafanil, it is a stimulant medication used to treat narcolepsy. It has NOT, yet, been approved for the other uses you mentioned. The reason it is so expensive is because it is very new to the market. It was only approved by the FDA in 2007, so there are no generics available at this time. The price with medical insurance or without it, will vary according to ...
