I picked up my medicine and saw that it was a white capsule instead of the yellow so I called the pharmacy because I thought they made a mistake but they told me that the company that used to make them sold out and a new company was making them that is why they are a differant color. But anyways this is the problem that I am having with them and my dr. told me to write to the company so I hope that I am writing the right people, since I started taking them they don't even make me drowsy the other ones would make me drowsy in about 20 min. the other thing is that I was sleeping all night long now I wake up after only 4 hours of sleep I know I'm not crazy but something isn't right with these please let me know what I can do I also asked the pharmacy how much Restoril 30mg would cost if I got the name brand and they told me over 300.00 dollars I can't afford that please respond A.S.A.P. Thank You

I had the exact same thing happen to me - white capsule instead of the yellow. I took the first one last night and I never went to sleep soundly. I stayed in bed, closed my eyes and may even have drifted off once-in-a-while, but I never felt like I had any sleep. My yellow capsules gave me about 4 hours of solid sleep.

I too used to get the Mylan yellow capsule, it was great. This time they gave me the white Novel cap and it's awful. It doesn't help me sleep at all. I also seem to be having some kind of allergic reaction; since I started taking it my eye's & ears constantly itch. This may not be caused from the Novel but it didn't happen until I started taking it.

As to contacting the right company, no you have not. this site does not manufacture, nor sell any medications, this is an information only website.

Now, to help you reach the right company, the capsules mentioned are manufactured by Novel Laboratories, Inc. and you can reach them at 908-603-6000 or by emailing

As to the problems everyone is having with it, if Mylan has stopped manufacturing it, there is also a generic on the market that is manufactured by Mutual Pharma, so you may be able to ask your pharmacist if they can order it in for you to try.

Is there anything else I can help with?

I just talked to a woman from Mylan and they do still produce the yellow capsule Temazepam. So the people telling us that they sold out and no longer produce it are wrong. She said to have the doctor write the prescription specifically for the Mylan brand. She also said that Walgreens and CVS Pharmacy's are very good at ordering it if you request it.

Unfortunately due to work I have had to try different medications that will not interfere with my accounting Some medications can take up to a couple of months before you can really see a positive effect. I do not remember with restoril. I have been taking it for quite some time and it works for me. It is so frustrating I know to find the right meds for each person. I wish you the best.

I've posted that the Novel123 made this older 5'4" woman feel drunk all this following day. I'm not sure I ever fell asleep, but I couldn't get to sleep in the wee hours and had to take the remainder of the 30 mg, capsule and a tiny bit more!. (I buy 30 mg on the recommendation of my doctor because it's more economical than the 15.)

There is definitely something different about this compound. I'm going to call my doctor and ask for a Restoril prescription--gets me to sleep, and at least the half-life is barely noticeable. I can get the pharmacist to destroy the Novel if necessary.

Earlier when I'd explained the milder problem--feeling slightly drugged--with two other generics (Mylan, etc.), my doctor said, "Who knows what they put in there?" This is not an acceptable substitute for Restoril and could cause real harm. It would be impossible to drive safely. I couldn't even cook for lunch.

I have taken 30 mg of restoril for 35 years now and it always worked. Now I have no ins. and was given a white cap by novel 123. I haven't slept in weeks, it does not work what is going on out there. I guess I will have to take a reverse mortage on my home to pay the 1500$ it cost me for three months of sleep THANKS to NAME BRAND. The pharm. corps might as well shoot me, it would be kinder.

I'm having the same problem, i remember years ago a 15mg would put me out. well recently ive had bad insomnia and i got the same white crappy 30mgs you are all talking about. THIS is the DIFFERENCE. when i took them in the past they were capsules filled with a hard substance and these new ones are filled with powder i assume because the capsule is soft. i think the old ones were more like a time release. i took these new ones and woke up 2-3 hours later, i've tried 3 nights and i give up on these. gonna call around to pharmacies to see what they carry. i'm totally disgusted because ambien doesn't work and i'm so tired of being tired and unable to sleep.
