On Norvasc, 7.5 mgs., and Zebeta 5mg, for HBP. Can't take diuretcs ## Hello, Arlene! How are you? I am sorry about the problem that you're having. Why can't you take diuretics? Alternative, you will like need to switch one of the medications and try something else. The Norvasc has been known to cause such edema, so it is the most likely culprit that you'll need to stop and replace. How long have you been taking it?

I am about 71 years old and a hypertension patient. I lost my potency since I started taking HTN medicines. Right now I am taking: 1. Eaziday 50 mg, 2. Norvasc 10 mg and 3. Concor 2.5 mg to manage my HTN. 4, I am also given Lipiget 10 mg to manage my cholesterol. First time I tried Viagra 50 1/2 pill which worked fine. However, after that the other 1/2 of Viagra 50 did not work. I then tried 1/2 of Viagra 100 which also did not work. I have Viagra 100 pill (Pfizer). I am scared of using Viagra 100. Please advise me to overcome my ED problem. I also have psychological problem that even if I have erection it subsides when I go near my wife. If I try harder, it ejaculates without any erection or sensation. I do get erection in the morning and also while asleep. Tariq ## I am located in Raw...

I have been on a prescription drug (NORVASC) Amlodipine and Moduretic for the management of my Hypertension for many years now. I am looking forward to a significant reduction in my BP situation but this is yet to come. I have the opinion that the right drug has not been prescribed for me. I am over sixty years old. Please help. ## Hello, Dubala! How are you? What are you current levels? It is possible that you've just not found the right medication or combination of medications to properly do the job for you. However, on top of the medications, are you also watching your diet to keep your sodium/salt low? That is also very important to lowering your blood pressure, so is lots of proper exercise.

I have taken Novasc without significant side effects however amlodipine causes shortness of breath what is the difference ## Hello, Cherrylyn! How are you? It could be due to one of the inactive ingredients in the generic, they don't have to be the same as those used in the name brand. To avoid the problem, you may want to ask your doctor to prescribe it as brand medically necessary, so you no longer receive the generic fem your pharmacy. Is there anything else I can help with? ## No thank you, I've already done that.

IS IT SAFE TO TAKE NORVASC AFTER EXPIRATION DATE ## Norvasc contains the active ingredient Amlodipine and while it doesn't get dangerous once it's past the expiration date, it can start to lose effectiveness. SInce it expired over a year ago, it isn't very likely that it will work as well as it did when it was new. Learn more Norvasc details here. Thus, it would really be best to get a new prescription. Are there any other questions or comments? ## What is the drug like lisinopril but does not have the coughing side effect?

the pharmacy put the label on in such a way that you cannot read the expiration date on the bottle without tearing it; the only thing that can be seen is the bar code with the numbers 8 0069-1540-68 8, a blue outlined box with 5283 in it, a partial 2-5 above a black box with 05-6819-32 underneath the black box, and a 9802 under a smaller bar code on the opposite side ## For tablets in a pharmacy dispensed bottle, the expiration date is one year from the date you received them from the pharmacy. :-) They last longer in the original factory sealed containers, but once that has been opened and they've been exposed to the elements that can cause degradation, the one year expiration applies. After that time, they begin to lose potency. Is there anything else I can help with?

I was wondering if i could take norvasc5mg with adivan0.05mg ## Hi becca, Based on my research there are no drug interactions found between the active ingredients in Norvasc (amlodipine) and Adivan (lorazepam); deeming them safe to take together. This does not necessarily mean no interactions exist, but my sources state that every effort has been made to ensure that the information provided is accurate. I hope this helps to answer your question! ## I didn't find any interactions listed between Norvasc and Ativan, but you should double check this information to be safe. Learn more Norvasc details here. Learn more Ativan details here. The one issue I can think of that you may have to watch for is that the Ativan can also cause some lowering of your blood pressure and heart rate, so if...

HOW LONG TILL NORVASK WILL EXPIRE ## Hi Buffy, The shelf life of any drug, including Norvasc (Amlodipine) is largely dependent upon how it was stored and what average temperatures it was stored at, etc. Oral suspensions can be prepared by a pharmacy and when refrigerated, have a shelf life of up to 90 days; whereas certain tablets can last years before showing signs of degradation. How long have you had it for?

i accidentally took amlodipine besylate 10mg(usually am) along with losartan potassium 50mg(usually pm). Will this cause a problem for me? ## Did you contact your doctor? Did you experience any problems? There aren't any dangerous interactions that I can find listed, these medications are often prescribed together to help control high blood pressure and/or treat certain cardiac conditions. However, taking them at the same time could result in some hypotension, which may make you dizzy and drowsy. If it's very severe, you may need to seek medical attention.

Is it recommended to take NORVASC and Prinival Both ## What has your doctor advised? When it comes to treating hypertension and/or cardiac conditions, the severity of the condition(s) plays a large factor in what medication is used, or if a combination of several medications is needed. Norvasc contains the active ingredient Amlodipine, which is a calcium channel blocker and Prinivil contains the active ingredient Lisinopril, which is an ACE inhibitor, so while they treat the same conditions, they do work in different ways.

Hubby opened his prescription of Norvasc blood pressure meds and found a small (about the size of an aspirin) light, pale blue pill - has A1 on one side and either a M or a W on the other side (could be either since it is a capital letter). We would like to know what this pill is. ## Is the marking actually M A10? If so, it is the same medication, a generic for Norvasc that contains 10mgs of Amlodipine, the pharmacy was probably short on filling his prescription and had to add one from a different manufacturer to provide him with the full refill. Amlodipine is commonly used to treat high blood pressure and may cause side effects, such as: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and headache. Learn more: ## i have been taking amlodipine in a blue pill for 2 yrs(A1 on one side and M on the other si...

I am concerned about my mother because she is experiencing ankle edema for 3 months now while taking norvasc. and one time my mother mentioned to me she experienced epistaxis (nosebleed) while walking in the mall. she said she took norvasc that morning before going to the mall and when the nurse checked her bp it was high:160/100.after taking a rest her bp normalized. when she asked her physician then she only prescribed diuretic to subside the edema. should we change her medicine and should we be alarmed by such incidence? ## The edema is a normal side effect, however, the elevated blood pressure and nose bleed are not! I suggest speaking to her doctor.
