No Weight Loss With Vyvanse

I began Vyvanse 4 months ago to help with weight loss and binge eating. The first month was great and I dropped 10 lbs with no side effects. Months 2-4 have also gone well. No binge eating, no craving. In fact I probably consume around 1000 calories a day. But I have only lost 2 lbs in three months. My doc is mystified. All my blood work was fantastic. No thyroid problem at all nor any other reason why I shouldn't be losing weight. Not a heavy drinker, smoke occasionally and am otherwise healthy. Has anyone else had this experience?

Is weight loss an off-label use for Vyvanse (Lisdexamfetamine Dimesylate)? I realize it's marketed for treating ADHD and binge eating disorder, however I wasn't sure of the mechanism of action by which weight loss is achieved... Does it work by suppressing your appetite?

Lately, I've been researching intermittent fasting vs a low caloric intake for weight loss and am finding that studies on periodic fasting portrayed better progress than low calorie diets for losing weight. Perhaps by only eating small amounts of food, it's tricking your body into thinking that it has to store whatever fat it can since it's used to not getting "enough"? Whereas with intermittent fasting, you may have high calorie days followed by no calorie days, causing the body to be in constant flux and keeping the metabolism going strong to burn more fuel. Carb cycling is similar in this fashion, but there are numerous approaches to making your diet work for you.
