I,m a campus police officer, and a student found a small bottle in a bathroom. He turned it over to me, and I don't know if I should destroy it, or throw it in the garbage. ## The FDA guidelines for pill disposal is to always destroy them, regardless of what they are, before throwing them away. They recommend mixing them in with something that will degrade the pills, such as used, wet coffee grounds or kitty litter and then disposing of them in the trash. The tablets you have actually contain 0.4mgs of Nitroglycerin, which is a heart medication, used to treat problems such as Angina. Learn more: Are there any other questions or comments? ## Thank you, Since there is no name, or prescription attached, I will detroy them as noted above!

my husband takes 2/ 2.5 a day and experiencing nose bleeds that last for hours... could this be the cause ## It seems possible - "The principal action of nitroglycerin is vasodilation—widening of the blood vessels ... The side effects of Nitroglycerin include lack of sexual desire, head ache, painful urination and increased bowel movements" I would also advise reporting this to the prescribing physician so that they may consider trying alternative treatments.
