Nezkil is the brand name of novel antibiotic Linezolid. In pakistan it was introduced first time by Continental Pharmaceuticals in Feb,2007. Initially it was launched as 600mg tablet with MRP of 178.00 per tab, now reduced to Rs.100.00 per tab. Later on 600mg/300ml infusion was introduced in May 2009. Now it is available in comprehensive range with the introduction of 400mg tab with MRP of Rs.70.00 per tab., 200mg/100ml infusion with MRP Rs.275.00 and 100mg/5ml suspension with MRP Rs.300.00 per bottle. Nezkil is the drug of choice in treating multi drug-resistant gram-posive bacterial infections. In certain conditions it is better to Vancomycin and Teicoplanin.

I am a patient who just had surgery and was administered Nezkil via IV and then tablets orally at home. The side effect was the issue. I felt Nezkil caused severe hyper peristalsis where I could feel the racing of the intestines and strange sensations of 'living skin' snakes inside (due to active intestinal movements) and overactive sensations in the mind due to the pace increase causing anxiety as well

Increased paristalsis is the usual side effect of almost all antibiotics. If you can tolerate the feelings than advised to continue NEZKIL for atleast 05 days after surgery.
