New Federal Xanax Laws? (Page 2)

I have done a lot of reading on the new United States 2013 Xanax laws. There aren't any? You can still obtain up to a 6 month supply of any schedule IV (4) medicine which includes Xanax. Some States have limited MD's to writing for a 30 day supply even forcing you to see a Specialist and putting you on a 'performance plan'. Please do not confuse local and State laws with Federal laws!

DON'T these DOCs KNOW you can very likely Seize, or have a seizure on cold turkey Xanax withdrawal. It's awful...WORSE than withdrawal from Opiaes and 4 X as Long. You need a new physician, maybe even a Pain Doctor. Fight for your rights. Remember there is a Bill Of Rights for Pain Patients. Bring a copy to your next appt., if you can even make it there..have someone,Sister, Mother, Friend go in Office w/Doctor with you. They tend to be more acommadating when observed.

I went through a similar situation here in northern Cal, when I was informed by my so-called "health care" provider that my Xanax prescription would no longer be available.

Never mind, that is the one medication that actually seems to have been working quite well for the past several months...

But of course, actual real help and common sense is not allowed here!

Nameless bureaucrats in Wash DC decided that Xanax is the new evil whatever, and mindless lawmakers who simply want to appear like they're doing something useful glommed onto this... and so now, it is the new maxim. Evil Xanax must be purged!

Well, f*** that BS.

But meanwhile, the mindless bureaucrats and politicians can pontificate and say "see, see, look, look, we're doing something, see, see", placate the clueless voters, and pocket money from the pharma companies hoping to market their latest new whatever pill they're trying to push.

Is it just me, or does anyone else here see something wrong with this picture?

It could be just you and your provider. Xanax is highly controlled and available in each of the 50 United States as of 10/13/17

So agree ! Been on generic Xanax for years. 2mgs, 4 X a day. I am the Most Anxious person I know. I only take 3 a day and save 30 a month for Hard Times, like in our "go Bag if we have to bug out. Xanax is NOT the WITHDRAWAL you want. It's weeks long w/diarrhea and no Sleep for 3 weeks and then I couldn't take it. Thought I'd try to quit, but no way can I stand that withdrawal.
