I took Bystolic when I was first diagnosed with high blood pressure and did fine. When the generic came out I was switched to it. It seems around the same time that any time I exert myself to do anything I start sweating just on my face, head and neck. Has anyone else had this issue? ## I’ve been on the generic for 2 months 5mg and have had no deleterious effects. ## The FDA does list increased sweating as a possible side effect of Bystolic (Nebivolol), along with nausea, headache, stomach pain, and tiredness. Ref: Bystolic Information Are you on any other medications?

side effect information ## Nebivolol is the generic name for Bystolic; Nebivolol is a receptor blocker with nitric oxide-potentiating vasodilatory effects, used in treatment of hypertension and, in Europe, also for left ventricular failure. Research I have gathered states that several studies have suggested that Nebivolol has reduced typical beta-blocker-related side effects, such as fatigue, clinical depression, bradycardia, or impotence. I have been taking Nebivolol 2.5 mg for 10 years to control hypertension. Can it cause cough which is persisting despite treatment. My physician says beta blockers at times cause chronic cough which goes if this medication is stopped and alternative medication taken for high BP. Is this true should I stop it to try out this hypothesis. Also more important can it be suddenly stopped or tapered off over a period to avoid a rebound after the body is used it over such a long period. Early advice will be appreciated.
