Nasatapp Side Effect

Im on my 3rd week of pregnancy. My doctor prescribed nasatapp to me because of my allergy. Is it safe to drink? what are the possible effects to my baby since im on my first trimester?

Nasatapp contains the active ingredients Phenylpropanolamine and Brompheniramine, it used to treat allergies.

The problematic medication here is the Phenylpropanolamine, the U.S. FDA removed it from over the counter sale due to safety concerns. It was found to greatly increase the risk of strokes in those that used it. In addition, when it was used by pregnant women, it was found to cause birth defects.

If it were me, I would seriously discuss these issues with my doctor, before using the medication and ask if there is something safe that they can prescribe.

In Thailand, I was sold via a chemist, tablets called Nasotapp to help stop a runny nose as a result of my cold. The next time I urinated it was painful experience and as soon as I stopped taking Nasotapp the urinating pain was gone - I was taking no other drug at the time. Nasotapp is nowhere to be found on the internet and also the company name on the packet which was RX. I only mention this here as I think it's a fake medicine riding on the back of Nasatapp.

I just want to ask if nasatapp cause dizziness? because i took 2 tablets 150 mg each and then the next day i did really feel dizzy and nauseated. Thank you

Nasotapp contains Phenylephrine HCL 10mg and Brompheniramine Maleate 4mg.
Phenylephrine is now the most common over-the-counter decongestant in the United States.
