Need To Find A Pharmacy That Fills Subutex Asap!!! (Page 9)

Updated

I have been on subutex for 9 months now. But i have a very big problem next month k mart pharmacy will no longer carry subutex. I live in the tri cities in tn. I have called about 35 pharmacies around they either do not take new people getting subutex or do not carry it at all. I have no insurance i found 1 that cost 340 which is way more than the 215 i paid at k mart. Also some pharmacies I know only carry the small ones which to me do not work as good as the bigger ones. Huge difference. I go back on the 8th next month, so if there is anyone that knows of a good pharmacy in my area your help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you tried googling Canadian pharmacies? I looked into them and the medications I was taking it seemed expensive, but I don't take the typical list of meds so I may be an exception. About 15 years ago, I had been in the hospital for 30 days and the insurance company tried pushing me into a rest home. When I got there they ordered my meds from some Canadian Pharmacy and there were no ill effects. DO your research on the ones you like, but my limited experience said the prices were pretty much the same. BE CAREFUL, Do not go outside of Canada for your meds, Turkey and a few others do NOT have an FDA so what you are thinking you are getting may not be what you want.

Sam's Club sells them, you don't have to have a Sam's card to use the pharmacy either.. You can't really be picky about which version they give you either cause they are so hard to find, these pharmacy people think they are Doctors instead of drug dealers... They only want to give them to pregnant women, not just dudes that can't afford to pay 9 bucks each for the suboxone strips. Honestly if they were as cheap as subutex I would much rather have the strips.,. but they arent. I can get 45 subutex for 150 bucks max, whereas 45 suboxone are 350 bucks minimum... Just rich a**holes trying to keep poor people poor.

My doctor just moved to a different office. The CVS people made him rewrite all 20+ Scripps. Then they F****'d that up. It took me three months of calling back and forth to the DR's office and then to CVS. In other words, it is paperwork that needs to be done. Put up with it as it will only be the first of many frustrations.

Wow, even after being gone some time, it seems people are still faced by this terrible thing of not being able to find pharmacies to fill their Subutex prescriptions. What I do when they do this to me lately is file a complaint with corporate for the pharmacy refusing your prescription, now the prescription must be presented in person just to be clear, collect their reasons for denying it, say nothing, go home and file a complaint with their corporate headquarters. I have gotten results every single time this way. It's best to let them say no, give a reason and just walk away and then file the complaint. Every single complaint I have filed has been answered so far and I've been able to get my medication filled at the pharmacy that first denied me or they are quick to find me a pharmacy. I think if everyone would do this, it would work. WE MEAN BUSINESS and aren't giving up easily.

What if it's a small hometown pharmacy? This pharmacy is filling now but if I go 28 miles more he said no he definitely will not fill it unless I'm pregnant, breastfeeding or get Suboxone / Zubsolv. Then the strip and cheek medicine put me on my deathbed each time I used it. I remained in the hospital with strips. Red blood cells took out white blood cells which made me severely anemic. My level was 3 the first time and 5 at the time I retried. I have no other choice but take Subutex.

Re: Amber85 (# 164) Expand Referenced Message

Dang, that is the smartest thing I have ever heard! I’m doing that tomorrow dude! I called over 35 pharmacies in the tri cities area today. The big chains said I have to be pregnant or breastfeeding. They don’t give subutex to someone just because they have an allergy to suboxone. & another one at walmart tried to tell me it’s tn new subutex law that just passed stating that it’s only for pregnant and breastfeeding women. Allergies are not sufficient due to people lying about it & them being highly abused. The tn state law does not say that - she flat out lied. The new law does include allergies along with pregnant / breastfeeding women. So screw that woman and the others too! What do I have to do? Take the strip and drop by walmart to show them my allergic reaction before I go to the emergency room again? Like what the actual flip!!! I was blown away at the lack of concern and emotionless responses. They also offered zero suggestions as to where I should go, or what to do! I said I don’t see why my doctor would have written me subutex if the new tn law said no subutex for allergies anymore. & not to mention the damn strip tore my mouth apart! I had a cavity & my dentist said, are u taking some kind of medication.. Film... Under the tongue!? I said yup some nasty s*** and she confirmed that the cavity was a direct result from the strip. Heck with that mess too! So I called everyone in a 20 mile radius. Then I said heck with it, I’m calling north carolina. All the local mom m pop pharmacies said they would fill it since I’m allergic, but they have only a percentage of subutex each month that they can order and give out. So I got many responses saying “sorry we’re fully maxed out on subutex patients, the governments got their hands all in this and passed new laws making things more difficult, & if I give this to u then someone won’t have their meds” I said yup me I’m the someone & I’m about to go into withdrawal severely which means emergency. Do or die time basically.

I have been taking subutex everyday for 1 year and 3 months! & they all just look at me with a blank stare. I was in tears when I turned and walked away from being so frustrated, & scared because I know what’s to come in another 24 hours! Plus I’m on adderall & need it. So I called nc walgreens of all places and she said come on down hunny, so there I go zipping down the highway going 75 mph, took me 1 hour ish to get there & I ran in the store at 5:04 wide open to put the script in her hand, she said she had to have the original paper (which I did) & have someone verify it, plus she has to use phone # that’s on the script not a cell phone or something else. So I rushed up with it in my hand giving it to her so she could call my doctors office because they leave/close at 5:00 pm (of course). Omg I was sweating bullets and she rang the phone... And said hello I’m calling about bla bla bla, & I finally just sat in the chair breathing hard... Withdrawing some, let out a big thank you lord, and counted my lucky stars that they even answered. Then 50 minutes go by and she says alright they are ready!! Shew, I never have checked out, got water & chugged two pills so quickly in my life! But I do have to say, in terms of principal & logic, by god I shouldn’t have to go thru all those loops and tricks and round abouts, just to legally obtain my medication written from a tn doctor that is highly educated and specializes in substance abuse programs. The doctor which feels while under his care this is the best thing for me. I don’t even feel it should be up for discussion with a pharmacy. Their job is to fill the son of guns & be there if I have any questions about side effects & what’s not. It ain’t their job to belittle me, disregard my doctor's recommendation for me, blow me off, judge me, stand in my way of getting my medicine, talk rude to me & turn me away like some dope fiend that’s out doctor shopping and foraging prescriptions!

I for sure ain’t gonna have the extra money for a huge gas bill every month there and back, the time, & even a car to just drive up to asheville every month for my meds. These money making mother f****rs here in tn should fill them just due to just being a decent pharmacist that truly cares for their customers well being! They should have a lil something in their heart that makes them want to help when they have the power to make me sick or not sick. They can clearly see it’s a legit script. But anyways, I’m trying your plan about filing a complaint. Heck they deserve it honestly! & if it actually results in them adding me to their roster then so be it, they are playing dirty and heartless! So it might be the backwards way to actually getting my medicine here locally but that just might be my willy wonka golden ticket!

Re: Rebel Yell (# 166) Expand Referenced Message

& Amber (#85) --

I too wrote a COMPLAINT about a "certain" Pharmacist @ CVS here in CA. The problem isn't about NOT getting them filled (in my case it's Suboxone & Xanax). At this CVS they "play God" about WHEN your Rx is going to get filled whether it's 28 days or 29 days...it's up to whichever pharmacist you get & actually most of them will fill them at 28 Days BUT they don't count the day you get them (like you're not taking any medicine that day) they count the day after, anyway whatever, I'm tired of having to play a guessing game about when my meds are going to get filled.

I googled "pharmacist rights in filling medicine" & it said that they are the LAST LINE of DEFENSE in deciding whether THEY think the medicine is getting diverted therefore filled on a certain day or not! WAIT!! WHAT??

I was completely shocked because I'm on Suboxone & Xanax for pain & believe you me I take EVERY ONE of them, in fact, my doctor has said I can take an extra one here & there if needed, but since it wasn't on the prescription SHE'S going "by the book" 29 days is one day early & that's all she can "do for me" (Oh thank you my godess).

I even had the office manager talk to "godess" pharmacist, a couple months ago to tell her that "Yes I'm allowed to take an extra one sometimes, so it can be filled a couple days early (actually it should even be more than 2 days early, but I'll have to get that figured out when I go in for my appointment next week. And so she's like all smug like saying "okay I'll fill it for you on Day 28 THIS TIME but next time you're going to have to wait the extra day & I'm thinking "what the f***" is ONE EXTRA day going to do!!?? Nothing except make her feel like she's the goddess in control. SMH!

As I read all of these comments about people having a hard time getting Subutex for opiate addiction & now with the CDC scaring doctor's into getting their pain patients on Suboxone (if it works) there's only going to be more problems so I don't know, but I I have a feeling it's going to get worse before gets better.

So I agree for all of us having problems make a complaint to corporate.

I live in Ohio and need to find somewhere that has the 54/411 subtext pills or the halfmoon ones by Saturday. My issue is they carry suboxen but not subtex and when I have called pharmacies to ask if they carry them they act so ignorant and tell me they don't fill to new people. Any help here in the Steubenville/Wintersville Ohio area to find pharmacy?

Re: SheriAmore (# 167) Expand Referenced Message

Yea I hate pharmacist like that nothing pisses me off more! I was on Sub's for 4 or 5 years then methadone for two years now I am on Zubzolv. For the first few months CVS always had my script in stock and this month it has been terrible. First they did not have it all so they ordered it and when it arrived it was the wrong strength. Im just bought what I could and they told me they would have it for sure when I came back for a refill. Well I came back for my refill and they only had 20 instead of a whole box of 30. So I bought those and went back again and had to pay again for 10. I ended up paying twice as much as normal for their screw ups. I am going to file a complaint!

Re: Jonah B (# 173) Expand Referenced Message

Yes but the medication in suboxone is very harmful to a growing fetus... That's why they put pregnant women on subutex. They dont prescribe subutex to everyone because a lot of people take subutex and continue to abuse it.

I was using CVS in sabarton (Morgantown WV area). They accepted my insurance (BC/BS) my copay was $10.00. Wasn't unreasonable without insurance at times when mine would lapse, due to lack of work.
