Myrbetriq Working Intermittenly

Updated

I have been on Myrbetric for about 6 months and for a while it works really well and then it lessens and does not work as well then it seems to come back again. Not sure why it does not work consistently and wondering if anyone else has had this experience?

Some of it can really depend on your own body chemistry, our hormones tend to fluctuate throughout the month, so at any given time, it is conceivable that this could affect how well any given medication works.

The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, blurred vision, and urinary retention.

However, there is also a chance that it isn't the right medication to help you, so you may need to consult your doctor about trying a different medication.

Is there anything else I can help with?

Thank you. I had tried several other medications before this with poor results.

I started out on 25 mg.Myrbetriq, it worked great...but then i started having a breakthru problem. My Dr.upped my dosage to 50mg...i didnt notice much of a difference...i am still getting urgency...especially drinking alot of water, which i upped my water intake....drinking more water is supposed to be good for you...but not if you are running to to bathroom toilet...so, i guess this 50mg isnt working....but first, im going to cut out all caffeine intake to see if that helps...i can do decaf coffee ok...then if this 50 continues to break thru..it will be back to the Doctor..

I have only been on it for 6 days. It is a miracle drug for me now. It worked in about two days. I am sorry for you. This must be a nightmare for you that it did work well and then not so well.

I have the same issue with Myrbetriq working great for several weeks, and then it doesn’t work at all. If I stop for 5+ days, it works again.
My friend’s Urologist recommended 2 weeks on Myrbetriq, then 2 weeks on Gemtesa, then 2 weeks on Oxybutinin. Makes sense. I’m going to see him.
