My Wifes Suicide
UpdatedOn April 14th, 2012, my marriage was as perfect as I ever though a marriage could be- in fact, I was surprised almost every day by another facet to the magic that was our lives together. On April 15th, instead of getting up and going to work with me as usual, with a noon picnic in the park and maybe some countryside exploring in the afternoon, my wife of 5 years was "tired" so I let her sleep. When I got home from work, she was distant and combative. We argued, because I'd never seen her that way and didn't understand. On the 16th, it was more of the same. She slept alot, and was distant and depressed when awake. On the 17th, she started saying and doing things that made no sense. I'd ask her if she was taking anything- she had serious knee problems from a reaction to Levaquin last december. She said no. Just needed some time to straighten things out. On the 18th, not long after I got home from work, she took a bath and for the first time in our lives together never invited me to share the big tub and a drink together. An hour later, she shot herself in the head with a shotgun. For a month or more, I anguished and puzzled over those three days. Then I found the sample bottles of Lyrica. 75 Milligram pills. The city police detective confirmed that her daily pill boxes were loaded with them. She was never prescribed Lyrica. These were SAMPLES, dammit. Handed to her like they were sugar pills, I suppose. In 3 days, I lost my Baby. Then I read that 1 in 500 people suffer from suicidal thoughts while taking this drug. If it was 1 in 500 people got a rash, I'd think it was minor. How many more Tammy's and Kevin's are there gonna be out there before something is done? I live in Alabama. Does anyone know of any lawsuit I can join to stop this lunacy? Any help would be appreciated, because now I have to live the rest of my life without dreams and hope. Because of a damn drug.

I am so sorry, that is so sad and you have to be really hurting.
Have you reported this to the FDA? If not, you can call them at 888-463-6332 to report it.
And next, have they definitively attributed it to the medication? Before any legal action would be effective, you do have to have some type of proof.
Did they do any toxicology tests to see how much of it was in her body?
Learn more Lyrica details here.
Lyrica is an anticonvulsant that can also help with certain types of nerve pain and mood disorders, because of the way it acts on brain chemicals, but for that very reason, it can also backfire in some people.
