I wish I could help . I'm seeing Faulkner too. He is not even taking his patients anymore. I told I felt like I did something wrong. He said no, the dr. Did something wrong by over prescribing you meds. I know there is a place up in the city that advertises they give meds. But they won't take insurance. And dr Peterson was in financial trouble because v of the clinic lost so much money. And I Googled him. He is in virginia. I think that is also where he did his residency. Good luck

Sorry I forgot to answer something. Faulkner will give injections. I don't know any thing about radio frequency but if it isn't a narcotic you shouldn t have trouble finding that either. Faulkner wasn't so bad last visit when he actually sat down and talked to me. If you go in there with all your medical reports and MRI he would probably give you something. I think maybe I am better off not taking as much as Dr Peterson gave me, if only because of something happening (like it did) and trying to find a new dr . There isn't one that will (that I found anyway), who will give us the same thing. .I have a feeling if there are dr.s here like that. Their patients are keeping quiet, too many ppl. = the dr. Under scrutiny and he or she leaves...

Laws may be different, but in Florida you OWN your medical records. You can request a copy AT ANY TIME. You have to become a jerk with these doctors, unfortunately. If it's too late and he's gone, I'm sorry. I really am. I won't waste your time saying what you SHOULD have demanded (like 3 post dated prescriptions giving you 3 months to find a new doc AND copies of your records, even if you had to call the police to his office). Still, I can't BELIEVE if there's a teaching hospital there there's no pain therapy clinic which would treat you. Your condition is verifiable by testing and perhaps you went to ANOTHER doctor that might have SOME of the info if not the Rx's..? Otherwise, if all else fails, have an ambulance come take you to the hospital. Tell them honestly what you have and why you can't get your records, and what you are taking. Tell them you aren't leaving until SOMEONE takes you seriously. Sometimes you have to SPEAK LOUDLY if your stick isn't so big. Tell them you know pain is to be considered a vital statistic, and tell THEM to get your records if they need them, otherwise they can do tests on you. Send the bills to the doctor who left you out in the cold, and with it a letter telling him he can pay it or you will bring a legal case against him. Immediately get in touch with the state medical board where he is NOW and do a formal complaint. Be VERY thorough and honest. Tell them what pain this has caused you. Then go get a lawyer. You stand to come out on top in the end.

I was one of Dr. Peterson patient. I have been on high dose pain meds for 10 years. I came to Dr. P already on these meds and he kept me on it. I have been stable with meds. When Dr. P left his practice due to financial issues he made sure I got 2 months supplies of my meds giving me enough time to find a new Dr. At first it was hard to find a pain doctor who would prescribe high dose pain meds. I think there are not very many doctors in KC who is comfortable or knowledgable enough to prescribes high dose so they just say they can't see me. It is not illegal to be prescribed high dose pain meds it's just a lot more work for the doctors to try to get it approved through insurance so a lot of doctors don't want to deal with it. I now found another doctor who would prescribe the same meds. Dr. Peterson was a very compassionate doctor. I am very sorry he had some faniancial issue with his practice. I feel bad for him. Maybe he could not pay for bills at his office and things were shut off. Maybe he has to file bankruptcy. I think people should put themselves in other peoples shoes and be a little more understanding. And not be so self center and play the victim role all the time. It was not that hard for me to find another doctor. I got 2 months and I am sure he did the same for all his patients.

I sure would like yo know where you found another dr.i too was dr P patient. I really liked him. And yes he was compassionate. The problem is I didn't get a referral and only found one pain clinic I could go too. They treat the patients like criminals, in fact I think they hate us...but because it's hard to find a dr. Who will prescribe certain pain meds...we just take it. Please tell who you are seeing. When you are suffering it's hard to be charitable. Thanks.

My current pain dr refuses to prescribe Oxycodone in any form. I am barely getting by on the hydrocodone er.
I am writing a letter to my current doctor because no one in his office has time to listen to me. i get 5 min of his nurse writing stuff down and handing me a script. telling me to try arch supports. i am in horrible pain all day and if i cant get some serious help quick...well...you all know what i mean

For me oxycotin has been the best, with oxycodone for breakthru pain. However as the above postings go I lost my doctor as well. Seems every time a good doctor comes around the DEA finds a reason to get rid of them. Been battling chronic nerve pain for 16 continued years never has gone away. KC area where Dr. P was my doctor and no longer is. If anyone knows of a KC pain doctor please let me know this last doctor refused to concur with Dr. P's treatment and went into full blown graves disease. A true story of a battle of health.

can you please tell me who you got for a new doctor. Dr. P was great with me as well. He even sent me 3 full months of DO NOT FILL UNTIL such date. A great guy and yet I know some of the details of what happened. The girls did not fill out paper work in getting his money. The owner of the building stop him from renewing it. Somehow from all of this I still think the DEA set this whole thing up just for a huge body slam to us chronic pain patients. Something smells about this whole deal since I was a lifetime Realtor in the area. So please help me if you can with another Doctor. thank you

Being a Chronic Pain Patient for the last 16 continued years. Yes I had cervical pain since the age of 13 years old building new homes in the midwest carrying plywood on my head and causing severe neck pain. There is no such thing as over prescribed medicine. There is over dosing from either the lack of knowledge or just plain stupid. Patients who have been long term learn the do's and don't with meds. I am at the point once again after losing Dr. P in finding another doctor because my current doctor refuses to CONCUR with his treatment. This doctor even said that I must come down at least 33%. So I am wondering after reading all these postings if all the pain doctors got together and said we draw the line in reducing all of Dr. P. patients 33%. Now once again no doctor and from this drop in meds it has brought on full blown Graves Disease and Hashomoto Thyroditis. Very rare but thanks to unskilled pain doctors who have no classes to show proof this is what I get. Good luck to all because we all need it. If anyone knows of a KC doctor I have all my medical records including DR. P's records because I knew how to work the system in getting my records from his office. Guess what ? it does no good. Just use the RX store copy of your last years usage and take it to another doctor. This is their proof you were on whatever type of med's it was. Still needing a Doctor in KC.

I am so sorry for all your going through I completely understand. I am also confused. I did bring all my rx records to the new clinic , I showed 5 hem what I'd been prescribed. I was seeing Dr faulkner and his PA "dr mike". At the weight loss surgical center, and pain management center. Every single appt. It's lower lower my meds. The very first one it was just my break through pain meds from 30mg 6 a day. ..to 4 x a day. Then my E.R went from 60 mg 3 x a day . Down to 30mg. 3 a day. Now after my last appt. I Was Told They'd Leave them where they were. Then P.A comes in and says yo expect my breakthrough meds to change next mo. I'm so sick of it. It's like they think I'm dr P patient so of course I must be over prescribed. I don't think even once has anyone asked me how I'm feeling. The PA guy loves to tell me every time. "Your taking dosages for cancer patients" I don't have cancer Thank you God (I mean that). And my MRI. "Only" shows arthritis and a bulging disc. I am on disability ssdi. Because I worked years and years with my back plus carried over 400 lb.s on my 5'5 frame. Gave birth several times with NO ANESTHESIA. Give me a break. I do know pain. ...very well in a years time I dropped over 200 lb.s. I'm pretty sure that put me out of whack too. I just want a compassionate dr. Who will listen to me. And not make assumptions. Why work in pain management if you hate your patients? On top of all my pain returning with a vengeance. ..I'm suffering withdrawals every time they lower my dose. I feel so helpless. ..and hopeless. I thought really really hard before I agreed to go on the "heavy stuff"... but truthfully it gave me a life back. I play with my grandkids, I work, my husband and I can go out now. I couldn't do any of those things before. Now.. who has found a DR. Who cares in the Overland Park/ Kansas City area? Anyone ????

I will not give out the current Doctors name for the simple fact that this is a good case of medical malpractice. I kept very good notes and the lies were simply false. Dealing with a daughter n law who has cancer the doctor knew this and warned them to keep all my meds the same. A very difficult doctor and did everything she asked of me. Yet she has never yet complied with our agreement and my health care. In fact my health care has gone down each and every month and kept notes on my health warnings to my Doctor. Right now legally they are still my doctor. I can only pray they will understand all the troubles I am having with so many diseases, continued pain of course and lets add on some cancer where she had flat lied twice and told this Doctor that my anxiety is thru the roof yet they keep taking me down. Anxiety way up and pain of course goes way up. Please understand it is a wait and see for me right now. Even my wife has problems and going to the same place and they may stop as well. I do not like being LIED too. It makes no sense for a professional to lie when they know it is easy to catch them in the many lies.

Please understand that as a patient I am once again in a holding pattern. Look at it this way folks who have been reading all these postings. We can get together HIRE a doctor and have already a business building to use. With this many comments on this 1 doctor it shows me and many investors that KC lacks in pain management doctors. So if nothing else we can start our own company. Already have a logo for the business. P.A.I.N. Patients Awareness in Narcotics. Yes already getting a copyright to this logo. K.U. is aware of my intentions and will be taking their classes. Please try and make the classes 1 per week 2 1/2 hrs for 6 weeks. They also meet once q month. For more info just use their link. thanks. We need clinics not a hospital setting for pain management and hope everything works out somehow.

This posting is for VERWON. Did you really win Vern ? Look at what you did to just a small sample of patients in the very best city in America. All you did is collect a pay check from the DEA or whoever and put people's lives in jeopardy. Betting you never did a hard day's work in your life. Because if you are from the Johnson County area I would know who you are. Something smells in this entire practice of Dr. P. Who was Sarah ? She sure walked like an agent and never seen her do anything. Why was the pc's always going down and some nerd comes in and downloads the info. This I witness myself. Knew something was wrong because Dr. P is only a handful of great pain management doctors we have in Johnson County. So who won in this BS Vern.

ELSTEVEO, this is for you. What else can you tell us about the DEA.and Dr. P ? I miss him so much. He honestly cared, he listened to you. Now I just went on for my Monthly visit at blue valley. And found out they fired dr. Faulkner!!! And basically cleaned out the entire "team". I kind of wonder if it had anything to do with the assistants writing all the prescriptions...I mean I to lid one of them I was nauseated andc she wrote out at script for Phenergan ..the dr wasn't even in the room ...then he comes in. ..makes me feel like shi* cuz my high levels of meds. And i have serotonin syndrome my brain only thinks I'm in pain. We'll duh! My brain is lying to me. So they cut me some more. From 30 mg to 20 mg. For breakthrough pain. Every time I go there I cry in the car. They make me feel that bad. I am afraid to go anywhere else, they are always talking about "dismissing" patients.

@ cherry cake. This is so so bad. No doubt the DEA goes around and monitors these kinds of rooms. I had no idea these rooms even existed until all the postings with Dr.P. Did not even know a person could respond about any doctor. This much I do know. I did in fact watch a PC nerd come in and download Dr. P. PC. He used a stick and even knows I was watching him. I just kept quiet about it because of not knowing what was going on. Sarah was another person I still wonder what her part was,. It is very sad our tax money goes to law enforcement to sit on their a## and figure out who is a problem. Ok if there really is a problem I am not aware of it. Surely there has to be better places to find drug dealers. So many postings I am sure some law enforcement person is laughing their a## off for ruining it for legit chronic pain patients. It pisses me off because of the labor work from 13 years old to now always in pain. They do not understand that part. I may have you a doctor pretty soon. But hell I have to find 1 myself once again because of the lack of paying attention to my health where I now have hashimoto disease. This new doctor had to cut me down 33 % and looked what happens. I warned her many times do not touch my meds well once again another disease from a doctor who did not care. Cherry Pie, just hang in there we shall find a caring doctor. Read your other postings so you have med records. We need more folks to get a board of P.A.I.N. going. KU hospital has 1 going right now. I am going and further advance my knowledge living with chronic pain.

Tidy would be great my current is OK but but he did lower me but he knows I'm biding time for next major fusion, my third. I'm just so tired of being treated so bad when I have followed every rule for 19 years now I either have to get someone new quick that knows about my condition and med or I again have to have major surgery and I just want some more time those rf procedures worked for me

Look, I've read all of your replies, and I have this to say: I'm NOT a doctor (and don't play one on TV) but I DO have an extensive knowledge of narcotics, learned by collecting books (including medical text books and books on opiates specifically). I educated myself because I had to. I live in the state with the MOST pain doctors and pain centers. I was terrified when I first moved here, and had gotten SO desperate that I enrolled at a local methadone treatment center because there WAS nothing else. There I met the clinic's doc who has run a pain management practice in addition to being the clinic doc for years (this was in N. Ga./TN) I explained to him why I had originally (in desperation and ignorance) gone to the methadone clinic and tho methadone worked it made me a zombie and my family hated the stigma of it. He understood. I had diabetes for 5 years (approx.) before being diagnosed. Because of this, neuropathy had already caused great damage to my feet. I ended up with three amputations and am fighting to keep my second big toe. As usual, some doctor's who know nothing ABOUT pain figured Lyrica could solve my problems. Well, it does: it makes my feet less numb. But the pain is still there. And as I said earlier, if your doc isn't well-educated or if they are a "combo" clinic like "pain relief/weight loss" something is up. Doctors that specialize is bariatric surgery and medicine aren't experts in pain management! The two are unrelated, except in the brain's reward system, a concept those doctors are likely to know only concerning over-eating. If they are a combo-practice is likely means they are just a money machine OR they look at pain and overeating as DAMAGE to the pleasure/reward area of the brain. You want to avoid these people. Educate yourself. I am lucky to have a doctor who also has a law degree, and my previous dr (the clinic dr with his own pain practice) had fought the dea in court and won several times. WHY? Because if you have legitimate records, they can't say "you're not in pain" and since new laws were past to PROTECT pain patients (like making pain a vital statistic at ER's), the dea responds by doing what they did recently: making hydrocodone a C2. Now there are NO real effective pain killers that can be prescribed and refilled, etc. The way is to fight fire with fire. Be prepared. Be firm. Don't ASK for a specific med but say what has and hasn't worked. Do a search on your doc and make sure he/she hasn't had "problems" in the past or you may become his next problem. Fight on the federal level by CONTACTING YOUR CONGRESSPERSONS and SENATORS! Don't be LAZY! You can EMAIL them! How easy is that?! TELL them your feelings.
