I have a 9 month old baby boy who weighs 10.5 kg. He had his first asthma attack since he was on his 6th. Monthly he would had his attacks. His pediatrician prescribed him 1 nebule Salbutamol (Ventolin) and 1/2 nebule Budesonide (Asmavent) every 4 hours, Prednisone (Prolix) 2.5ml 2x a day, Pocaterol HCl (Meptin) 2.5ml 3x a day and Cefixime (Tergecef) 1.5ml 2x a day. Then I went on a second opinion pediatrician, she prescribed Ceterizine (Allerkid) 1ml before bedtime, Salbutamol-Ipratropium (Duavent) 1 nebule for every 6 hours, Erythromycin (ilosone) 2ml 3x a day and Montelukast (Kastair) 1 tablet before bedtime. I had a neighbor whose her baby is taking Montelukast for almost 2 years now. She said his son had no longer attacks. My question is, is it okay for my baby that I will give him...

my mother taking montelucast and levocetrizine since last three months can you give me any harmful side effects it may create ## Is she taking them on a doctor's advice? There can be risks associated with the long term use of any medication, but there is no way to say what effect they may have on any given person and 3 months is not generally considered a long period of time. I am suffering from Breathing problem, my doctor prescribe to take above medicine (1/2 per day). ## D-Montus contains the active ingredients Doxofylline and Montelukast, it is used to treat respiratory disorders, such as Asthma and allergy symptoms. I have allergic rhinitis and would like to know whether or not it's safe to take Montelukast, even though I am taking Rifampicin now? Thanks. ## From what I can find, they can be used together, but the antibiotic Rifampicin can reduce the effectiveness of the Montelukast, by making it clear out of your body faster than normal. This means it may not help you as long or as much as it would, if you weren't taking the antibiotic, but it is not dangerous. You should check with your doctor or pharmacist to be certain, though.

I have continuous throat infection... even antibiotics dont work. I have been taking monticope once in three days which gives me a bit of relief. I have visited different ENT doctors but they only suggest to take antibiotics and nasal sprays. What is wrong with me. what actually this medicine is?? for which purpose it is prescribed?? ## Levocetirizine is an antihistamine, side effects may include: nausea, drowsiness, dry mouth and headache. Montelukast is used to treat asthma and allergies. The side effects are, therefore, very similar. DO you have any other questions?
