I have a 9 month old baby boy who weighs 10.5 kg. He had his first asthma attack since he was on his 6th. Monthly he would had his attacks. His first pediatrician prescribed him 1 nebule Salbutamol (Ventolin) and 1/2 nebule Budesonide (Asmavent) every 4 hours, Prednisone (Prolix) 2.5ml 2x a day, Pocaterol HCl (Meptin) 2.5ml 3x a day and Cefixime (Tergecef) 1.5ml 2x a day. Then I went on a second opinion pediatrician, she prescribed Ceterizine (Allerkid) 1ml before bedtime, Salbutamol-Ipratropium (Duavent) 1 nebule for every 6 hours, Erythromycin (ilosone) 2ml 3x a day and Montelukast (Kastair) 1 tablet before bedtime. I have been taking montelukast, generic for Singular, 1 tablet daily, for slightly less than a month. I also use Advair for asthma, which I have had for many years. Within the past week I have begun having severe, unrelenting laryngitis and within the past 3 days an unbearable itching and tingling in my left wrist and hand. Montelukast + Levocetirizine tablets have been prescribed for white patches and itching on my skin. Kindly advise me on whether it is ok to follow through with this treatment? ## They can be taken together to treat allergic reactions. The NIH lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, and dry mouth. The concern, however, is the white patches, since that might not be indicative of an allergic reaction. Can you post back and clarify what they look like? When did you start experiencing them? There are various other issues that might cause such symptoms, including yeast infections, and dermatitis.

Does Montelukast Levocetirizine Zykast cause mouth sores and night sweats? I'm very curious about it. ## Ive been taking the generic of xyzal for about 20 days +/-. Coincidental to this or not I also have developed a canker sore in my mouth- never had before and the inside of my cheeks are temp sensitive. Healing some maybe but in am worse & I take nightly. I thought it was something else but this is the only new med in my life so I was googling around to see if anyone else has had a similar problem- ? No night sweats but this raw inside cheek;sores is not good.

Sir, I have been taking Montelukast Sodium and levoctrizine dihydro chloride since few months as I feel relieved from allergy which used to cause cold and caugh.Although I feel fine now and want to quit this tablet now .Please suggest me on how to quit .I feel drowsiness which is having negative effect on my work .Please help me . ## This medication is not habit forming, so you don't need to taper off of it, or anything. However, stopping abruptly may cause some rebound sinus congestion, as reported by the U.S. FDA, but that should go away within a week, or so. Drowsiness can be a normal side effect of antihistamines, sometimes it gets so severe you can't stay awake to do anything. Are you on any other medications?

Hi all I have been taking Montelukast for the past 7 months and have noted that I now never ever get bitten by mosquitos. This is a very welcome side effect! ## Hello, David! How are you? Many medications can change your blood and sweat, which may make them unappealing to such insects. It's just how they react with your body chemistry. I am having sever allergic issues. I get incessant cough due to sore throat. Can I take cetrizine in morning and montair FX in night. Or it is not safe to do so. ## I didn't find any problems or interactions listed, but it is always best to double check to be sure. I tried Singulair but it caused me extremely dry mouth, so much so that despite the medication's benefits I don't know if I want to continue using it. Does this side effect of dry mouth wear off with continued use of Singulair? If so, after how long? ## Hello, Shira! How are you?
