Hi, iv only been taking 15mg Mirtazapine for a week and doubled the dose to 30mg last night. It had helped me sleep up until i doubled the dose. Although i wanted to sleep i had terrible aching in my hip, knee and shoulder bones. I am still aching today but not as bad. I may think its my bones andit may even be muscular but the pain was so intence i just could not sleep. I have been experiencing muscle twitching whilst taking the 15mg but that was mild, this was unbearable. Has any one else experienced this please? Thanks ## That type of aching may be the sign of a serious side effect, so you should contact your doctor about it. Learn more Mirtazapine details here. It might be that it's just not the right medication for you and you may need to try something else. Have you looked into...

My physician placed me on a 15mg dose of Mirtazapine beginning with just a 'half' dose for the 1st week. I tried this dosage for 2 nights and ended up having 'heigthened' throbbing and 'restless-like' syndrome of my entire body-especially the right side. I have Fibromyalgia, Renauds' syndrome and have suffered from years of sleep problems. I have been on varying doses of Elavil over the last 12 yrs but this no longer helps. I do suffer from mild depression, mostly due to work stresses but I have been on a medical leave since July 11'05 post rotator cuff surgery. Tonight I will be trying Ambien- 5mg dose. The claim that Mirtazapine is used to treat 'tremors' is contradictory in my case-seemed like it was causing mild tremor-like throbbing with my l...

I'm currently on Urbanol 10mg and Mirtazapine 30mg. I gained a lot of weight within 3 weeks. Can it be the Urbanol or the Mirtazapine or both? Plz help. ## I am also on Mirtazapine for 3 months now. It's widely known that weight gain is a side-effect of this drug as it stimulates the appetite and makes you eat more. I have also gained weight, something which is normally difficult for me. ## Giarno is correct, weight gain is a listed side effect of Mirtazapine, both with short and long-term use. Rapid weight gain, such as what you've experienced has also been a common complaint. Other side effects may include drowsiness, dry mouth, and headache. Have you continued to gain?

Does Mirtazapine continue to cause drowsyness as long as it is taken, or does that (side) effect wear off in time? If so, how long does it take to wear off? ## Ive been on it for two years, you will def. feel drowsy when you wake up it will take at least and hour or two to wear off and It also seems to wear off once you keep yourself busy ## I have been on Mirtazapine for 9 months now - 15mg at night. I take it around 9:30 pm, but always feel groggy in the morning. True - if you just get up and get going, it will wear off fairly quickly. It has helped me sleep thru the night and gain back weight that I had lost. I feel bloated most of the time, even when I am at my normal weight. ## I've been on Mylan-Mirtazapine for the last year. At the start, my doctor prescribed 30mg per day. Th...

## I started taking 15 mg of Mirtazapine a month ago and for anxiety, feelings of fear and worry and depression. I’m still feeling some worry and fear. I’m having some bad dreams and very over anxious. I’m having headaches and constipation. These dreams are the worst. Do these side effects get less powerful over time? ## Many people on Mirtazapine report a worsening of their symptoms of anxiety and depression in the early weeks of starting Mirtazapine (same as many other anti-depressants). It can take several weeks for the drug to begin working and then symptoms improve. Mirtazapine usually works faster than newer SSRI anti-depressants (many people report improvements between 2-5 weeks). However some people may need their dosage adjusting to get the full benefit. Docto...

Hi all. Great reading your posts. I am on Mirtazapine for the second time. Happy new year by The way. Firstly my psychiatrist put me on 30mg. It knocked me out every time. I had vivid abnormal dreams, lucid which I love. Nevertheless I had the munchies all the time coupled with lethargy, fuzziness and mild hallucinations. I kept going but was getting chubbier by the week. So i decided to ween myself of them feeling that my depression and residual psychosis from previous street drug abuse had resided or gone altogether. 3 weeks off them I was back in a dark gloomy and aggressive place my mood was irrational my thoughts racing always looking for someway to escape myself. 2 months later I went back on them and at first I felt like they were not working so the doc uped them from 15 to 30mg....

## What is Cispin? ## Cispin is a common misspelling for the antidepressant called Zispin SolTab. Active Ingredient: Mirtazapine Method of Administration: Orodispersible (e.g. Tablet is placed in the mouth where it rapidly disperses in saliva so that it can be easily swallowed). Indication: According to medlineplus.gov, Mirtazapine is a prescription antidepressant drug that works by increasing certain types of activity in the brain to maintain mental balance. Controversy: Studies indicate that it may take up to several weeks or longer for you to feel the full benefit of Mirtazapine. Hope this helps! ## In my experience, all treatments need to be tailored to each individual. It is almost useless to say "Try this, it worked for me!" My 24 year old overdosed on paracetamol and aspirin last week. She took over 40 tablets. After being released from hospital and seeing her local GP she has been given 14 day supply of this drug. Has any one else experienced this? I had to start using the Mylan version of Remeron / Mirtazapine and I now get sever leg cramps, headaches and the return of my depression. It’s as though it has NO active ingredient in it. The name brand Remeron puts me to sleep about 15 min after taking it, but the Mylan generic for of Remeron/Mirtazapine does not. I stay awake for hours. I can not afford the name brand remeron at $187.00 a month but I am to afraid if I try to use the Mylan version again the worse will happen. I am kind of between a rock and a hard place over this. But I have switched back and fourth enough times now that I know the Mylan version does not work. I get this from Walgreen’s in IL and I am looking for similar problems. Walgreen’s tell me they will not ca...

Our 13 year old Maine Coon mix is in the last stages of renal failure. We didn't know anything was wrong until about a month ago when she stopped eating. It's been up and down ever since her diagnosis. Our vet prescribed Mirtazapine but, after reading the many negative comments, we put off giving it to her as long as we could. We finally had to because the effects of not eating in cats are liver shutdown and death. She's had no serious adverse reaction to Mirtazapine, and it has definitely helped her appetite. It is buying her a little more quality time with us. I certainly wouldn't use or give this drug lightly, but as some posters have noted, in the end it's a risk v.s benefit judgment call. ## I am very sorry to read of what you are going through. I am not very kn...

I have been taking Remeron for 2.5 months and will have a hair drug testing tomorrow required by my new employer. I saw the above posting and worry about getting positive result for amphetamines. I appreciate any replies. ## Can a false positive come up for THC/cannabis use from taking Mirtazapine? ## Well what happened? Did your test come back positive?

I had previously worked as a police officer for just short of 3 decades, and the last 15 years of that was as an undercover narcotics investigator. I had not slept more than 4 hours in the last 20 years . I absolutely knew something was very wrong with my body, constantly exhausted, very negative attitude, and i had bad aches and pains, its just goes on and on. I retired and decided to sit down with a doctor and "lay it all out on the line, then let the chips fall where they may, no lies, nothing held back" I soon discovered something called a 96 hour commitment order, which i narrowly escaped by having to lie to keep from a locked down mental evaluation. my problems are manifested from 10 years of assisting in many dead body removals while assisting ems, picking up body parts fr...

If they do not, or if they worsen, you should consult your doctor as you may need to try a different medic...
