The doctor diagnosed me with hypertension and prescribed micardis. I'm experiencing headaches, dizziness, anxiety and all of this is affecting my quality of life. I've gone in for an ECG and CT scan and both reports say I have no problems. I stopped taking micardis today and the dizziness is still there but there's no anxiety. Could someone please tell me how long it would take for this medication to get out of my system? ## Those can be typical side effects of this medication, according to NIH studies, it can also cause nausea, increased urination, and hypotension. However, if you have hypertension, it is very important to get it under control, so rather than just stopping, you should consult your doctor about trying a different medication. It may take a few weeks for these...

I would like to know how people are reacting to name brand Micardis 40 mg? I just started and am not sure if the side effects will get better over time. I.e., worse back pain (already have chronic back pain but seems to be worse since starting this), worse anxiety and depression, headache, stomach upset, general aches and pains in joints. I was on 80 mg of Lisinopril for 10 years ~ yes, 10 years! I had no problems with side effects or at least I thought I didn’t, but after being on it about 7 years I started to get bouts of severe gastritis which I blamed on too many steroid shots and also tinnitus. I had no idea that BP pills could cause so many long term side effects. I had to get off them when my pharmacy switched to Solco brand and they were terrible! Instant headache and seve...

My regular MD.Mic doctor has prescribed Amlodipino 5mg. However a cardiologist has told me stop taking this drug, and had prescribed a drug called Micardis. I thought chloresterol was no longer considered a problem? Cardiologist also prescribed Atvastatin? Baby aspirin too, I read that Aspirin is no longer approved by the American Medical Association. Who knows what to believe. As someone who has never taken drugs and I'm 80 yrs.old,I don't know what to believe! ## Hello, Carol! How are you? In most cases, doubling up just once will not cause any serious issues, according to NIH reports, but you may experience more severe side effects than usual, which may include nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, and hypotension. Are you on any other medications? ## i did not have any effects at all the dose was taken 10 hours after ist dose so i guess the time lapse made it ok. i did not feel any different i waited 24 hrs before my next dose thankyou robyn

I had been on Micardis 40 plus for several years and then put on Micardis 80+ for around 2yrs; started to have lots of issues with bp being all over the place and dizzy, tired etc. face flushed, full feeling at any sign of stress. My doctor has put me on the lowest dose of Coveram 5/5 and I am wondering what I can expect initially as Micardis was a different type of blood pressure medication? Many thanks. ## Hello, Sue! How are you? I'm happy to help you! As listed by the NIH, you may experience some rebound blood pressure and heart rate elevations, though they shouldn't hit dangerous levels, since you have replaced it with another medication. Its typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, stomach pain, dry cough, increased urination and hypotension. ...

Age 88 female with pacemaker, has bp of 130 /50... Is low diastolic a problem?? Meds are 40 mg Micardis and twice a day of 5 mg Plendil. Has sciatic nerve problem. Taking .5 mg of clonazepam nightly to sleep. ## It really depends on whether or not it is causing you any symptoms, according to the NIH, such as dizziness, headache, or fainting. Are you experiencing any such symptoms? I also take blood pressure medications and my cardiologist told me that there was no need to worry, unless you are experiencing such problematic symptoms.

I am 64 yr old female with HTN. ACE inhibitors caused severe muscle weakness, can't take Calcium Channel Blockers d/t GERD, so MD finally tried ARBs: Losartan Potassium caused paresthesia and PVCs (symptoms vanished right after drug dc'd). Then Rx'd HCTZ alone with good efficacy but d/t elevated readings in MD office, was changed to Micardis and HCTZ. Paresthesia returned. Micardis stopped, (back to HCTZ only), but paresthesia continues even after off Micardis x 6 weeks. How long can it take for paresthesia to stop? ## After 6 weeks it should have started to improve, already, unless some permanent nerve damage has been done, or if it's also being affected by the HCTZ, since it can also cause it as a side effect. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly includin...

Hi there, I have been on Micardis 40 mg for 5 weeks & for at least 18 days I've been suffering from lower back pain. Has anyone suffered from this. I had been on Trandate for c.7 years due to pregnancy & breastfeeding but was originally on Micardis for c10 years with no side effects. I'm finding this back pain so debilitating. I'm going back to my gp on Monday but also have a physio appointment in case it's just a coincidence. Thanks ## It can be a side effect of this medication and I have experienced it myself from several blood pressure/cardiac medications. In all cases, I had to see my cardiologist and switch medications. Other side effects, as listed by the FDA, may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination and hypotension. Is there an...

Hi, I have been on Co-Micardis 40/12,5 for 5 years now and bp is steady at 110/70. Recently moved to Saudi Arabia and today the Dr put me on Micardis 80 Plus, I think because of the language barrier as my bp tested normal. Can I take 1/2 tablet daily? ## Hello, Herb! How are you? They are listed as containing the same ingredients, Telmisartan and Hydrochlorotiazide, so you may want to take just half of a tablet, as long as your doctor approves. The language barrier might have caused some misunderstandings. The U.S. FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination and hypotension. Is there anything else I can help with?

I was taking Micardis for a really long time, years. It was fine for a long time then my body started being poisoned by it. I had skin problems I never had before. My hair and eyelashes started falling out. I was very nauseated. I had the shakes. Finally I got so sick I had to hospitalized three times before they figured out it was the Micardis. I feel much better now. All my problems have completely disappeared except that it turned my hair that didn't fall out curly, which I never had curly hair before. Long term use of this product can make you very sick ## Hello, Leo! How are you doing? I'm very sorry about what happened to you.
