Hello, Florida! How are you?
Actually no, it is not recommended that these be taken together, by anyone, regardless of age and being elderly can worsen the issues that may occur.
They both tend to increase the amounts of the other that you absorb and, in the case of Levofloxacin, the FDA reports that it can significantly increase the risk of a tendon rupture.
The other typical side effects are listed as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, acne, insomnia and diarrhea.
It may be best to double check with your doctor as they may want to prescribe something different.
Is there anything else I can help with?
No thanks...I've almost finished both prescribed meds. I feel better (sinisutis feels as though it's clearing up well.) I'm sleeping better, no acne. I do a lot of walking and yoga - so it will be a matter of time for the tendon issue to come up..I truly hope I'll be fine..I did feel unnerved when the new doctor actually asked me which antibiotic I would prefer ~ like I was to choose a dessert! Thanks for your help.
